I said to WHF Jr Sr the only reason Adkins took him off was so he didn't get a hat trick and really attract attention.

We talked about this a good part of the way home. If he keeps scoring then his (and his agent's) head could be turned by the untold riches of Division 1 where he might spend his future as a very wealthy impact player. That would be tremendous waste. With first team professional football for a couple of seasons he could become a "top top player".

Maybe he comes from a family of socialist revolutionaries and the money won't matter to him that much.

I'd be lying if I said that thought hadn't crossed my mind just after he looked as though he was shaping up to seal his hat-trick. Thought he also didn't shy away from defensive work when it was necessary today either.

We'll be lucky to keep him – if he's still here in September I think his future with us will be entirely dependent on whether we get promoted.
