Mainly just to piss you off but also to raise income during the close season. We're hiring it out to the Senior Blades to use as a bowling green.

Lets not even think about reduced maintenance costs either.

Mind you, we appear to have paid for it three years in a row.......

well lasat season we turned down first murphy of a million and got another half a mill
so makes sense to try and up any fee we get for Adams

So if we get 1.5mil for Adams, then by your previous statements, we'll be shelling out at least £3.5 million in transfer fees this season right?

Much as I love confirmation that every fresh start falls at the first hurdle and The Kevbots fall back on the "excellent bit of business" shite, shouldn't we actually wait and see what actually happens before getting revved up?
Why what happens ?

Pierre's PC Like the second toilet much better, I hear that we're having these Japanese toilets installed on the kop

I hope you're joking Swiss. I know we like to be an all-inclusive family type club, but why the f*** are we wasting money on toilets for our Japanese supporters? Have we even got any on the Kop?

Apparently its down to the new deal with the Chinese for the South Stand, they intended to sponsor the Kop as well, but they took one look at the Kop facilities and they weren't impressed. Major deal for the Kop once the toilets have been upgraded.

I hear that the toilet idea came up as a way of going the extra mile for the Chinese investors. The Kop/ South Stand corner will be known as the Nanjing corner, complete with Sushi and Sake bars.

Serving traditional Japanese food and drink to try and please our Chinese investors would be a very Sheffield United thing to do.

cant have it both ways
the perception was if we sold anyone mccabe doesnt release the money
I said we will spend 2 million , there were no caviats

Well ... we had to buys a fucking PITCH last season to assuage the rising costs of abandoned games and fixture pile ups and injuries and ... and ...

Why exactly did we install a desso pitch, again, folks?

pommpey
Because it was genuinely more interesting watching the grass grow than the performances on the pitch?

This only going to go one way - Che will leave - probably before we even kick a ball next season.

The money will then be used to run the club/pay wages/pay off the exiles - take your pick.

"Yes we will put in 2 mill as straight transfer fees .if chris asks for it.
Might end up spending more if we sell some"

2011: Slew
2012: Quinn / Blackman
2013: McDonald
2014: Maguire
2015: Murphy
2016: Adams?

It never changes unfortunately, and its all down to the league we find ourselves in, we can't stop players wanting to better their careers at bigger clubs (at that moment in time)

We can't stop them wanting to do it but we can stop them actually doing it by turning down transfer bids.

Having watched Adams for a season and a bit, listened to him in interview, noted his off-field transgression, noted the manager's comment about not training properly that time, studied his game awareness, concentration levels, work ethic; I'd take £1.5m and snatch their hand off, particularly bearing in mind we have Sharp, McNulty, Done, Lewin, all much of a muchness.

Take the money and spend it, don't worry about these fans who will always talk about selling young players. There's a time and a place. If it means we keep Lewin and buy well, let's do it.

See ya Che

As somebody has already said, he'll now ask for a new deal and the club will reject it
Then we'll sell for peanuts in a blind panic because "You can't keep an unhappy player"

We all know what's coming..............or at least some of us do

If Gillingham can turn down £2million for Dack like they allegedly did in January, i'd hope Che is worth at least that in potential alone. He's far from the finished article, but you'd hope he would bring a higher price in today's market than Dack, with PL clubs looking to hoover up any potential talent they can find.

Che is nowhere near as good as Dack "yet"

Surely after 5 seasons in L1,mr McCabe has grasped that the current model of selling the best players doesn't work that well

Regrettably no ..... he hasn't ...... and that is one of the biggest problems we face !!

Sell best players and replace with mediocre = 6 seasons in L1. Its not rocket science .......

Are you listening Kev ??

UTB & FTP

How highly do you rate Adams then? Is his retention key to next season?

It won't matter what paltry fee we sell him for ......... do you really believe that the funds will be re-invested in the first team squad ??

why not

we dont have the highest wage bill in league one through having a tight board

its simple logic
our problem has been poor managers
we didnt buy brayford and Done with argos points
we didnt spend what was available last season because Adkins was a twat
