Adams and Calvert-Lewin, what a partnership we could have had.

In before ‘yeah but we had to sell them at the time’ comments.

Been saying it for ages. We paid more than double the price for McBurnie & almost paid as much for Mousset as they did for Adams. Even if both had been fully fit this season I bet Adams would have outscored them combined quite easily.

He was available again this January for £15m after having gone for £13m last Summer. Ridiculously under priced.

He had a slow start with them, but he's been playing really well for them for a while now.

Of course he would walk into our side.

Pity you're not our manger then captain hindsight instead of the best one we've ever had

I have it on good authority he didn't want to resign for us even if we were to place a bid for him. That was summer 2019 though.

and how would we have got on last season when McBurnie and Mousset were doing what we needed and Adams wasn't? As has been pointed out hindsight is 20/20 vision.

That's to assume Che Adams wouldn't have done well for us last season.

Remember, Southampton were poor in 2019. As they improved, so too did he.

Good point but his individual performances weren't great (from the highlights) which was why he got dropped. Having said that they were still better than our strikers this year but hopefully our guys will pick up soon.

Let's not doff the cap too much.

Che Adams - 8 Premier League goals in 20 starts

Lys Mousset - 9 Premier League goals in 19 starts
