Great finish but he looked a bit slow I thought ,not as sharp over the first few yards as I rembered him

Some strike from the lad today. 40 yard lob.

He's still one I'd sign if he's available.

I can remember Colin Kazim Richards scoring a sublime effort past a keeper gone walkabout as he brilliantly looped the ball over Jaaskelainen nearly 14 years ago, and thinking at the time that there was a player that’s going to score a few Premier League goals in his time. It remains his only one to date.

I do think he can still improve and become a player at this level, but for the price we’d likely have to pay I don’t think we should really be looking at him as an option.

Most unsurprising post of the day. Scores goal. Let’s sign him.

In fairness, if you look back over the pages in this thread you'll see I've been championing this for some time.

I wanted us to sign him in the Summer. At £11m I still think he'll turn out to be a bargain.

CKR went on to have a pretty impressive (and interesting) career in fairness to him. I think he's plying his trade over in Brazil now.

Not particularly aimed at you Cap’n It’s the old ex player thing. Was always going to happen because it always does.

He kind of curled it in more so than looping it over. He did have a good career tbf.

He was always a great finisher - just the rest of it really. I'll trust.Wilder on this.

Undoubtedly a great goal, but at a rate of goals scored to games played - one scored in 23 games played I think - hardly impressive, that is unless you think it's worth waiting to see a well executed goal. Seems to run around a lot, so obviously fit, but in spite of the goal I feel a spend of several millions might not be the most effective use of limited funds. There does seem to be a vocal minority who would welcome Adams back to the fold, but I wonder if sentiment is colouring that decision? Adams was eager to leave the first time around, so not sure that he'd contribute to what is already a first class dressing room camaraderie.

If we could get him and Brooks for £5m between them it’s good business. Any more and it’s too much.

Yeah, I sometimes cringe at the "bladey-blade" type suggestions too so I understand where you're coming from.

I always thought Che was a steal at £11m, it's way below the market value for a young, proven Championship striker.

I like his attributes; pace, power, ability to play up front on his own.

I'm not sure why things haven't worked out for him at Southampton, but I don't believe that he's just not good enough.

Danny Ings is why.

If he's just scored yesterday then he's likely to get a run of games anyway and may get back into the fold. Is he really better than the Moose too? I doubt it, I'd rather buy someone who's just come off he back of a really good season or someone more proven, but maybe had a quieter season and will be out to prove himself again. I'm not convinced Adams is better than what we have essentially.

I've been championing signing Che Adams since last Summer when Southampton got him for just £13m, way below what his market value should have been as a young Championship striker that had just scored 25 goals in a season.

In January he was available again for roughly the same price, I thought we should have gone for him then.

Now he's starting to find his feet at this level. He's strong, quick can finish & can play on his own or in a pair. He'd have been great for us but I think the ships probably sailed now.

Always rated Che was gutted when we sold him and would love to see him back at the lane he is a talented lad and with the right service can score goals at this level.
