Charlie Mulgrew

As my Username suggests I am a Hearts fan as well as a Blade, but the perception amongst most fans in the SPL is that Charlie Mulgrew is a very good player.

We have an even better player at Hearts in the shape of the 22-year old Lee Wallace the current Scotland left back who may well be Premiership bound in the summer, but its an indication of Mulgrew's qualities that he would have been most Hearts fans choice as a replacement.

Mulgrew can play either left-back or centre-half and is also something of a dead-ball specialist, players signed from the SPL have been doing very well in the Championship of late and if the Blades do sign Mulgrew it would be a very astute piece of business in my opinion.
 
Err.. apologies but I thought the other ,by nature of the fact that it was in the rumours forum was just that... a rumour where as this seems to be fact

but if it offends i will remove it would hate to keep people awake at night worrying about a duplicated post :rolleyes:

The general rule is that rumours stay in rumours section until they're confirmed.
 
Which is why when I read this in it

"Sheffield United boss Kevin Blackwell has confirmed he is trying to complete the signing of Aberdeen defender Charlie Mulgrew."

I assumed it became less of a rumour and more of a confirmation

Not being picky, but you've just confirmed that its still a rumour. Its less of a rumour but its still a rumour because we haven't signed him yet... looks like we will but he's still on his Hols, so probably next week we'll have a nicely tanned Jock* in a Blades shirt on the OS

* Nicely tanned Jock = very pasty
 
Blackwell is trying to complete the signing of Barney McGrew Charlie Mulgrew.

I have been trying to win the lottery and have a threesome with Christa Ackroyd and Jennifer Aniston in a paddling pool full of Swarfega.

None of the three have happened yet, hence them actually occuring being mere rumours, or in the case of the latter two fanciful daydreaming. One of them might come true. We can but hope it's either the jackpot or the menage a troi:D
 
Wow, why not shoot theswollengland fella and be done! 95% of stuff posted on this site is a rumour. Blackwell argues with his players, we haven't got any money to spend etc etc

Or alternatively read the bit of the forum where we are asked to post in the relevant section. I merely pointed out that the subject of Charlie Mulgrew is being discussed elsewhere, and as it's still a rumour that he's signing at the moment Swissblade added to that. The intention wasn't to shoot TheSwollengland , merely to point out that it's still a rumour as it's not confirmed and already has a thread decicated to it.

If that has upset you then hey, I'm sorry both about that and your fixation with men's underwear.
 
Is it still a rumour if someone has confirmed it? Yet it can't be classed as a signing until it has appeared on the OS.

So maybe we need another forum something along the lines on:

'Not exactly a rumour because someone has admitted we are interested in the player, but still not a confirmed signing because he hasn't agreed terms and signed a contract and if someone posts something in the wrong place they will get grief for it forum'

Quite catchy I think!

But remember to expect a posting from Olle that will be truth rumor or joke serious AND take you three hours to read:D
 

It is not a rumour it is a fact!

A fact confirmed by Blackie that we are indeed trying to sign him.

A rumour would be that we are trying to sign him but not confirmed or substantiated by any officialdom!

No but as we have dedicated forums for specific subjects seems a shame not to use them ;)

It was never a dig at anyone, just making the point... And the real point is that, as we've found many times in the past, we thought we've got someone/ kept someone/ renewed their contract and all of a sudden they've ended up elsewhere.

Like I said earlier, it sounds like its pretty certain that he'll be coming our way when he's burnt his scottish skin in Kavos or wherever it is he's gone too... but he hasn't signed yet.

The point I made was that a report had appeared where we were being linked to a player and having looked at some sites that represented his current supporters the reaction to the news was mixed ,which if those of you with rumour anal retentiveness care to check out you will no doubt satisfy your need for facts .
