No chance of getting him I'd have thought. Apparently Wilder rates Shane Long quite highly so he could figure on our shortlist but again as things are, unless they would loan him to us he's out of our price range.

Unless there's an abrupt change in our wage policy, how does anyone consider such a move possible?

Plus the fact that we don't pay fees outside of a couple of million, so please explain how we're meant to bring in the likes of Long or Austin? Of course I understand the 'horses for courses' nature of who we chase and who might be appropriate, but at the moment, especially with an unresolved boardroom discussion about who'll eventually own the Blades, it's unlikely that we'll be able to consider such moves in the foreseeable future.

Are you an aging has been on massive wages?

Well sir... welcome to Hillsborough

Spot on!

it's as if people are two stupid to see what's happened over the past two years.

Wilders policy is to buy the brightest players from Leagues One and Two in the positions he thinks we need, and then augment with a couple of PL loans.

At no stage has he ever brought in an ageing PL drop out looking for one last pay day, but let's not let the truth get in the way of fans spouting bollocks...

Think we're going in for, Noel Chance, or if we fail there, his brother Arthur??

Why would it be any sort of indicator?

In my opinion it's where we have been since CW took the helm. Chasing lower league players. (That was ok in League 1 because we were a lower league club). Trying to pursue higher league players with very limited success because we can't compete. Looking at players coming to the end of their contract. Whilst I'm not knocking that because that is sensible policy, it also highlights where we are at and I believe CW has intimated as such during the season.

Chasing Vaulks seems to be just a continuation of that policy. No surprise if the two at the helm are fighting for control, but we need investment from somewhere if we are to try and compete at the next level. Scrimping and scratching with a bottom 6 budget will only work for so long imo and that will be regardless of who the Manager is. Miracles are in short supply these days.

Can CW keep us up next season? I'm sure he can. Can he replicate this season's results? I doubt it with another bottom 6 budget
