We have been successful for four years with the current style so no need to ditch it, but a few changes to make us more creative in the final third would make sense.
It may be as simple as having an attack minded right midfield who takes defenders on (perhaps not so simple to find one at the right price)

We certainly need to be more creative next season. Heard lots of people saying we need new strikers, what are they meant to do when we don’t create them enough chances.

I’d even consider going 1 up top with 2 creative players behind.
I.e Didsy, fleck, Freeman, brooks, benrhama etc

We just need to change back to 3412 instead of this seasons 352. We tweaked it away from 3412 - just tweak it back.

If we are serious, and CW alluded to this in his Everton post match about options up top, then enquiries in the press about us chasing Cantwell/ Eze may point to a return to a no:10

UTB

if we are looking back toward a No.10 for next season I'd be interested to see how Freeman can get on, seems like we already have a tailor made player for that role in the squad. Unless we are looking for a stronger player with Freeman continuing to play back up, might make sense with the struggles he seems to have with injury.

Think we may go down the route of 2 wingers cutting in from wide supporting a lone striker eventually once we're an established premier league team. Wing backs and 3 centre backs would and could stay as is. Berge by that point would be in the middle in his more familiar role with a slightly more box to box next to him perhaps?

Chris Wilder stated we need better players to get to the next level. I don’t see tactical tweaks making a huge difference we need better players to improve.

Villa will improve next season by spending another £100m. How much they improve nobody knows but they’ll give it ago.

Amazing season, 4th best defensively and that’s been the absolute key to our season

We’ve failed to register a shot on target In something like 4 games under wilder since he arrived. according to Amazon last night

I actually think we’ve been wasteful uptop with missed Chances in and around the penalty area as well as corners/ set pieces.

We just need to add a little more pace and clinical strikers and we can hopefully build on our excellent defensive base

Think we just need depth/upgrades for our current style. But we must have other options of how to play when teams sit in.

Agree Shorehame ,we have gradually improved the squad alongside slight tweaks to our system.
This has to continue in this window which we will.
We often get into good positions but throw it away with a poor pass or wrong decision, we have to make more of these situations next season with an improved and tested squad we can kick on.
Going to be tougher next season that goes without saying.

Wouldn't mind seeing this, going off what you said.

Substitute mouss and Zivkovic for swift and Freeman away from home and your almost there. McBurnie will also be on the bench, replaced by our one big buy Up front.

There has been lots of talk of what we need to improve since the season effectively ended on Monday night.

With the start of next season only 7 1/2 weeks away at least we won't have to put up with the usual long wait to see how we intend to approach it.

In my opinion we do not need major changes.

The obvious first signing is a goalkeeper.

After that , there are several areas where it would be good to have more serious competition like at right side of defence and right side of midfield.

To my mind the biggest change we could make is to sign a player like Mousset who the manager has faith in to start most games. That option of pace up front has been the difference in many games, especially in the first half of the season.

It's an outlet, and it stretches the opposition, helping the rest of the team even when the ball is then played short or into the feet of Mcburnie or Didzy.

That's the most FIFAy thing I've read in ages. Sack off centre mid, ATTACK and DEFEND. 😂

The finish is very similar in some ways to our 1st season in the championship and finishing position could be the same..
We thought that a good season we have fallen away in a similar fashion done well to take it to the last but one game.
We kicked on in fine style last season finishing with promotion to do similarly next season would be amazing, just to progress would be great.
It's a fact we arnt going to make many changes, really we didnt in our promotion season but improved accross the board.
The changes we do make will make a big difference hopefully ! creativity and pace are two major factors we have to work on in my opinion.
Wilder will have known what's needed for sometime I just hope he gets the funds to carry out the surgery, could be a tough season if not.

We don’t have to play someone in the Duffy role for every game - but having a PL version or someone in the hole creating for our attackers has to be more feasible next season.

We’ve defended very very well but looked toothless on a couple of occasions - where a number 10 could have helped us massively or at least given the oppo something to think about. Shame Freeman hasn’t always been fit / trusted For this role this season.

seems like we went for solidity this season, so i would imagine we try and kick on next season with sorting out the creativity/attacking now that our defence has demonstrated to be more than than adequate.

On strikers - OMB served properly will score 10 or more PL goals imo... We do need another pacey striker as previously mentioned... Dennis would be perfect.

I’d be happy with freeman and didzy in rotation at CAM, maybe with another young championship backup in this role too to provide something entirely different

I think the point from previous seasons is that we know how we'd like to play. More time on the ball, more time spent attacking. The hard part is where we find the players to do that in such a competitive division. It gets tougher and tougher to find gems no one else has.

It is quite attacking but also out of possession it's 541, so it's not so attacking then and actually a solid defensive shape. Tactics do vary in game from the formation shown on the lineups screen that you'll see beforehand.

We need an actual (or at least better) plan b. JOC mentioned another formation they'd been practising in training. Our current formation is likely to work less next season, depending on who we sign, so we need another more attack-minded option as well. I don't think pulling Bash and throwing on another striker has been greatly successful.

The experts have been saying that for the last 4 seasons!

How long does it take to become "an established Premier League team"? 🤔

No idea, should have said we may look to switch things up when we're able to shop in the like of Waitrose & M&S - albeit only the reduced sticker items.

We will find them in far away places, at club's we've never heard of, and players with exotic names. Like Jerónimo Cacciabue from the not so famous Argentinian side, "Newell's Old Boys". 👍

We shall scour the hills of the Tora Bora in Afghanistan and the deep valleys of the Hindu Kush to find them if necessary. Leave no stone unturned.

The only tactical change I would make is to play more positively at home, and go back to 3-4-1-2 with the number 10, primarily in games where we need to look at putting the opposition on the back foot.

The flat midfield 3 this season has been born out of sheer pragmatism, and has served us well, especially during games where we have had to surrender possession for long periods, but whenever need to get on the front foot a move back to using a number 10 would be welcomed.

I endorse this idea. Two of Fleck, Ollie and Sander can sit. We need a number 10 (Didzy is also an option here). We do the Atalanta:
