Wow £250k to live on the grim potholed streets around Ewood Park.I saw this on a Facebook page. I thought we'd be a bit higher to be honest, certainly higher than Burnley! I guess at least its one table where Wednesday are above
I think it might have something to do with the "locals" that live in S2!!!. Another area fucked amongst many many others. It's obviously taking the entirety of S6 into account, because the immediate area around the stadium is a shithole. S6 in general is an expensive area,
The fact that S2, a very central area of Sheffield is so low is typical of the shithole that the local council has made it.
M2, LS2, L2, would be some of the most expensive properties in their respective cities due to the central location, but this doesn't work the same way in Sheffield
Worked up there a lot .. trust me it’s no surpriseBlows my mind you can get an average priced house for under 100k in Middlesbrough.

London commuter belt. 3 bedroom semi round here much more expensive yet similar time to get into LondonThe main question I have from that, is why would anyone live in Luton at those prices?![]()
I lived a short walk from the New Den, very handy, if dangerous, when we won 4-0 or Rotherham scored six there. Sadly, I sold the flat before the Bermondsey Boom.Imagine spending extra to move from Oxford to Bermondsey![]()
S10/S11 are some of the most affluent postcodes in the country and are right on the doorstep of the city centre so this “argument” doesn’t really work. House prices very high in Kelham Island too down in S3.It's obviously taking the entirety of S6 into account, because the immediate area around the stadium is a shithole. Clearly he doesn’t like students…Please elaborate
I parked right near the ground for the 4-0. I noticed a Blades window sticker on the car parked in front of me which made me think to take my own sticker off for this particular away day. Got back after the game and the car in front of mine had been trashed by the angry locals! Hope said Blades managed to get home somehow![]()
Proud S2 lad here as well- I wonder if ‘JJBlade’ would enlighten us on which affluent area he resided in to call someone else’s area a ‘shithole’…S10/S11 are some of the most affluent postcodes in the country and are right on the doorstep of the city centre so this “argument” doesn’t really work. House prices very high in Kelham Island too down in S3.
This may surprise you but Leeds, Liverpool and Manchester all have deprived inner city areas too. The average house price in L2 is £30k lower than S2.
LS2 is right next to the hospital and universities and M2 is part of Manchester City centre so comparing apples and oranges.
S2 is quite a large postcode and doesn’t just cover the streets immediately round Bramall Lane, it takes in Manor, Wybourn, Hyde Park, Arbourthorne, Heeley etc. A mix of large “council” estates and terraced streets.
I grew up in S2 and didn’t find it to be the “shithole” you think it is.

Every city "centre" has an abundance of small/old/dated properties. A lot of people don't want to live centrally if they can afford not to. Noise and crime etc.I didn't say they didn't
But the City Centre area of a major city is like gold, and the local authorities of other cities ensure that it remains that way as best as they can.
And yes as an S10 man born, bred, left and returned I know all about S10, S11, S6 and S17, but they really don't compare to South Manchester districts edging into Cheshire, and they don't compare with North Leeds suburbs either, and they certainly don't compare with the better areas of Southern Cities.
Depends on whether your main takeaway was a pizza or an IndianI stayed in the Swallow Hotel and my main takeaway from that experience was that there had probably been a lot of swallowing done in those rooms over the years, and for a very reasonable price.
I’ll start with Fielding Road……..only houses near wednesday are on Bickerton Road and Leppings Lane be lucky to get 350k for 3 of them together
and S2 has some very expensive apartments
I think the people are as decent as anywhere else.I think it might have something to do with the "locals" that live in S2!!!. Another area fucked amongst many many others.
