We'll get more TV money next season as a result of the promotion and we'll end up with more gate money from both increased home and away fan numbers but we also need to capitalise on increasing our commercial and sponsorship income. Instead of some of the tinpot deals we've been bending over backwards for in League 1 we should start to come under the consideration of bigger players not global players I grant you but certainly major regional and some national brands.
It's very competitive and difficult persuading businesses to back you - they will analyse everything to do with the image of the club and the fit between the values of the club and the sponsor. Doubtless the board know this - strange then that they are prepared to take on the Ched baggage (if indeed they are), it will hit them in their pockets. Our juvenile fire raisers will also start costing the club this income as well if there activities become associated with the club and particularly when someone gets seriously injured or worse as a result of their little bits of harmless fun.
