Of course it will be one of Quinn or Howard so who would you go for??
Even with the signing of Lee Williamson it's ridiculous how short of cover we are in the central midfield!!

How bout this:
Bunn
Walker Morgan Killa Taylor
Monty
Cotterill Little Ward
Reid
Evans
Me and Steve! Solid![]()
on paper that formation is good, but i dont think it would work - cotteril isnt a central player and if ward and cotts were going to be used as the width in this formation it may aswell stay 442 and have little and monty in the middle - i think little could potentially do the creative role in the middle were missing - hendrie is too unreliable, and in all honesty - has had his chance. push cotts and reid to get to the byline and get the crosses in and hopefully cut down on the long ball - keep ward upfront - the only way he's going to score the goals, which is why we bought him in the first place, is by playing along side ched upfront, not in midfield.
I think its too easy to stick a load of attacking players down on a sheet of paper and say that will be great, however the ral world aint like that, that team would get over run with only monty able to defend, flexible is one thing but a team needs a pattern and players need roles to carry out, other wise man city would walk the premier this year, you must have balance. what you do when you don't have the ball is as important as when you do have it.
having said all that we have been too negative at home over last couple of years, blackie has got the balance too far the other way and we do need to be more adventorous
My opinion (for what it's worth)..
.......................Bunn
Walker......Morgan......Killa.........Taylor
Cotterill......Monty......Howard......Reid
.................Hendo.....Evans
Subs; Ward, Treacey, Little, Bromby, Quinn
I know Howard was poor the other night, but I still hold out some desperate hope that he can become the creative midfielder we need him to be. With Monty there to do all the running he SHOULD be able to concentrate on supporting the front 2.
Bring in Stock??? Is this just another version of the Howard solution??
A few of you keep talking about this, I assume you actually just do mean running about - not anywhere useful or anywhere anyone with any sense of positioning would be?
