Well the season ended on a ray of disappointments. But to put together a promotion charge which we MUST next season we need to sign these players.

1) A new Goalkeeper- Daniel Bentley. Howard's form has dropped recently and I think this guy who's young is a very talented prospect. Watching him the other night he made a string of good saves, and is rated highly in the game. I think personally he will be a magnificent signing and we could keep him as he's only young and Clough likes his young talent.

Richard O'Donnell is another possibility. Out of contract at Walsall and both game's VS us kept them in the games. Commands the area well and is very vocal which we need. A ex pig but very very experienced. Clough may want to sign him as he will be cheap and hopefully will work very hard.

CB- I've heard we have looked at Bury's CB Nathan Cameron. 23 years old and 6 foot something a big bastard and will be very commanding in the defence. Would definitely solve our height problem. And playing at the back with a experienced head next to him could see him been a very good asset. His partner could be Jake Buxton. Cloughy will obviously be interested as he is a Derby player and is a very good commanding Centre Half and isn't afraid to put his head where it hurts and will organize the back 4 very well and maybe chip in with a few goals. These two I feel could promote us come January if we keep clean sheets which was our downfall last season.

Mid - Rodolph Austin could be our nasty bastard in midfield and often scores a few wordies and has just been released by Leeds. A commanding and very vocal and strong player to drive our midfield forward on the counter too.
Jamie Ward- A well known name, and would terrorize defender's in this league. A Clough signing at Derby a certain player to sign for us.. Him and Done would scare defender's in this league.

Signing a GK is crucial in my opinion but I just don't think he will. He'll stick with Howard.

I like Bentley & O'Donnell , I'd add Tommy Lee to the list too

Some good suggestions there and I don't think they'd be too far off being Clough's targets this summer minus the goalkeepers, he has faith in Howard so he'll still be our No.1 next season. One more suggestion that as far as i'm aware hasnt been mentioned is Connor Goldson of Shrewsbury.

He's a 22 year old highly rated centre back, he stands at 6'3 so he has plenty of much needed height. He's also this season been voted into the League Two team of the year. He's 7 goals to his name proving he is a threat in oppostions area from set pieces which is something we need again too. Heard some rave reviews this season about this lad

Rumours that Buxton has already been invited to Shirecliffe but if he is too much of a risk following his injury ( but that's not stopped our manager before!! ) then Matt Kilgallon has probably got a couple of good seasons left in him and is out of contract this summer. Yes I know he's yet another ex-blade and I'm not usually one for going that route but he seems still to be performing pretty well and would be good at this level, particularly alongside a younger CB.

I think Buxton looks a dead cert as Derby have been linked with Lewis Dunk and Jason Shackell. Holt is leaving, to be fair I'd of kept him goalscoring midfielder.

I'd take buxton. Big and strong. We need the spine of the team to be just that

Not familiar with Buxton, but if he's a leader, can do the obvious, straightforward, defensive duties without causing my heart to skip a beat, I'd welcome him with open arms.

We're short of several essential qualities, leadership being one of them. If Buxton can provide this, perhaps it'll become contagious and we'll see a much needed change of character in the squad. A Division 1 Roy Keane (attitude wise) will do me every time!

I think you mean Shaun Barker, not Jake Buxton.

Buxton is still contracted to Derby. Its Barker who has had 3 years of injuries and has been told he can have pre-season with us.

Some interesting names on there. Even at 30 years of age, you would think Leon Clarke would cause all sorts of problems for League One teams, like he did at Coventry recently.

I see that Jacob Mellis has been released by Blapkpool both in The Championship and in League One, just to rub salt into the wound. That was £1 million wasted by Chelsea, then by us most probably

Febian Brandy's gone from Rochdale too, his third club of the season and fifth (inc Walsall x 2) in two years. I wonder if he ever thinks about why that keeps happening?

Interesting to see Will Hopkins name surface as released by Oxford. Didn't realise he played for them now. Sounds like he still has his injury problems though, which is a pity as at 29 he could have been worth taking a punt on.

I see that the super star that is Jacob Mellis has been shown the exit door by Blackpool. Now Jacob, just remind us, of the derogatory terms you used to describe our Club when we had Chelsea's pants down. One million was it?

You might get a game in a Sunday League side, if they aren't,too particular.
