Personally I think Mic has a fair point and in no way should he be subject to personal abuse and insults for what is a thought provoking, heart felt thread. The one's below should be ashamed of themelves:

he is a wind up merchant, just not a very good one. He lacks the intelligence of Lenners or the humour of Olle, two attributes that can save WUMs from being nothing more than a complete pain in the arse.

Meanwhile a village somewhere or other in deepest South Yorkshire bemoans its lack of an idiot........

If you ever make it out of the upper reaches of your own arse Mic, maybe we'll get some sense out of you...

What a pointless and if I may say, stupid, post ....... Every day I'm glad I'm not Micalijo!

Let's all start the music, let's all light the lights, because it's time to get started on the Micaliijo show tonight. Muppet

I think Mic needs psychiatric help. Seriously.

Do you think it is acceptable to personally insult someone for stating their opinion? It's funny how much slating I got for my North Korea forum name change suggestion. Yet Mic states an opinion and gets this. The irony is that (at best) most actually agree with the sentiment, but feel the need to get insultive. Even more amusing (in my eyes anyway) is the fact that despite being subject to ridicule, persoanl insults and outrigh abuse, no one has actually debated Mic on this issue. Not a single poster has argued his comments about Carver down, nor have they offered any constructive counter argument.

Linz has been at pains lately to pull members up about personal attacks and insults ......

Regardless of whether it's thought-provoking or heart-felt I think the majority of people replying have issues with the way it's written. The original poster could have expressed the same opinions using different words and most likely had a very different reaction from here. I happen to, God forbid, agree with him in that I don't think Carver is the right option for the Blades but it's the self-aggrandising, superior tone that I have issue with. Lose the attitude and he'll lose 90% of the agressive replies.

And everyone of the agressive replies could have left it and watched it drop off the page ...

Another post claiming to know the opinions of thousands of people without actually asking them. Fucking genius. I wish I could get more internet access instead of working so I too could join in with such terrific insights. Alternatively I could spend my time knitting hats for weasels out of recycled copies of the Reader's Digest.

**Edit** For what it's worth I don't think Carver is the man we need. He'll do as a caretaker for a handful of games, but that's it. That's just my opinion. I've not asked thousands of other people what they think. I've got work to do during the day, I'm not on mentallist benefits or an eccentric millionaire, and I can't waste my time away polling the thousands of Blades that were obviously asked for their views.

Some people have the time to poll thousands of people, because they tell us they know the views of thousands - and why would they lie? Not me. I've got charcoal to unload.

I've got charcoal to unload.

I dont know if thats really wot you do but,

I sez to these lads today, you downtown Friday after work ?

They replied, No, too many Crackpots, I put the Gazeebo up last night, we are going to have a Barbeque Friday Afternoon instead

Yes, we import charcoal. Lots of it, from big stuff that restaurants use in traditional ovens, lumpwood for barbecues, and various small grades for industrial use. I hope they got their charcoal from B&Q. That's lovely charcoal.:D

Olle, I don't feel remotely ashamed of my post, in fact quite the opposite. And you know full well why it got the response it did, it wasn't about the message, it was about the manner in which he chose to put across. It turns the thread into something about the OP personally rather than the subject itself, preventing a proper discussion of the actual issue of his post, which might be a very valid issue, and basically shouts "LOOK AT ME!!!!" He knew it was a provocative style unless he is monumentally stupid, and to suggest otherwise is disingenuous on your part. Pack it in, man. Its getting very boring for everybody else.

Well, I am expecting seeing them downtown later, probably with pockets full of glowing Charcoal, I will ask em if its from B&Q ......

The last time I remeber this is a forum, a place for debate and a place where they sate their opinions. Mic wrote his post the way that he feels. This is actually unbelievable. (Now that people agree with Mic) he is being persecuted for the way he expresses himself. It's not the opinion that he gave, it is the way he said it. It was the way he said "10'000 years to Chairman Mao", I could see in his eyes he was lying. He deserved to be executed, I am sure I hear a note of sarcasm in the way that he stated he loved Kim Jong Il. There is nothing in the forum rules saying you should express your views in the same way of the masses. However there is stuff in there about respect (something posters have showed a complete lack of), personal abuse and victimisation.

Hkkkkkk (sound of pulling all the flem together before spitting) ;)

Hypocrite. This is coming from a man who recently said that 'Ollessendro has single handedly ruined the forum'. Yet a few weeks later you praise me for being a wind up merchant with humour (thanks by the way) and you get personally abusive to another member. Do you think that is acting in the spirit of the forum? And if he really is this bing wind up merchant, then why not rise above the bait and ignore the post?

Personally I find the victimisation of Lenners and Micalijo boring. I find insults boring. Usually I leave boring posts alone, but I feel it is only fair to highlight unnecessary personal abuse. You can dress it up however you want (he deserved it: he was agressive, he is arrogant, he criticised Stalin, he refused to do the saluto Romano to Hitler) but is not acceptable.

Amazing, after all the personal attacks led on the club by the Sunshine band, you are calling me a bully for calling Micaclueless a muppet. I am just delighted that 99% of the people are behind the club well apart from the usual suspects like yourself, Len and Micclueless. Go on make a complaint you little girl, your no Blades to me

You come across as someone who has taken alot of insults and bullying. One must only wonder if you brought it all on yourself

No I didn't, I criticised you for it. You are a wind up merchant, and you know full well that you are, and that isn't a good thing. I think you have damaged this forum with your attitude, said so, and stand by it.

I hear what you are saying in the rest of your post, but think it is bollocks. This forum is a community, just like, any other community, real or virtual. Communities get by best when every member of it has the sensitivity and decency to consider the sensibilities of the other members, and makes one or two adjustments to their behaviour to be able to blend in, without pissing everybody else off. Doesn't mean you can't express opinions at all, just stop being the pub bore.

I am no Blade to you?! :( Oh I take it all back then. It's fine for people to be abusive, as long as sheffielder (a poster clearly of the highest integrity and intelligence - as demonstrated on this thread) thinks that I am a Blade

You change the mind like the wind Nick old boy. You've praised me for being humerous in the past and then a few weeks later I've ruined the forum. You are entitled to your opinion of course.

Perhaps you'd be happy to call Mic a village idiot in the pub, or call him out for being a wind up merchant a beer. Dunno, as I know nothing anout you.

People can be abusive all they like for me apart from to women and children. People like yourself Ollie bring it on yourself then cry when someone says something you consider to be abusive. Your like the annoying little brother who goes crying to mother when things you do are done back to you. Get your bat phone out to Linz and Foxy and get a strike against me. We're all Blades aren't we, somehow I don't think that is something that you ever consider.

I'm drawing a line under this now. I've made my point. I'm not interested in getting people banned (whether they deserve it or not) but just pulling people up for what I see (and what the rules state) as being out of order. I can imagine it is getting boring for the others, so I suggest we leave it and get back to the debate.

No I don't Olle, I am consistent on this. Yes, you clearly have a good sense of humour, but yes, you have also, in my opinion, done damage to this forum

And yes, I would say to Mic in the pub what I have said to him on here. It would be a bit pointless, because I suspect I would be saying it to somebody who is very different from the internet persona he seems to have decided to put across, one often finds that to be the case. But I would be quite happy to say it.

Christmas, a stressful time, particularly for families.
Time to pass the sherry round.

pointless trying to discuss the issue of carver out. seeing as this post, like many others has been ruined by the internal politics of this forum.

i imagine posters like myself who cant/dont make daily posts find this sort of stuff rather annoying and to be honest, immature lads.

leave it for the pub lads, lets keep this place about the blades.

Hi Olle we've not crossed lately because i stepped back and refused to keep squabbling with you. Despite you keeping goading me and others mentioning our names with a 'what do you think of that then', attitude. If Nick J said you'd single handedly tried to destroy the forum, That is how I personally felt.
I've watched from a distance and you seemed to step back for a while too.
Maybe we both learned our lessons about how to behave not coz we shouldnot express ourselves but just so the forum community works really well.
It was the tragic news about Happy Hippy that made me think even more about how we should value this place and its members. I'm sure from time to time we will all still shout and curse each others comments from time to time the trick is not to get to stuck in our ways.
Anyway back to this thread.
you have defended Mic as you see, the problem I have with his comments is this below.

''Sorry John pal but you aint wanted at BDTBL, thousands of loyal Blades do not want you as manager of the club''.

How many thousands did he ask? I'm a season ticket holder, he didnt ask me and surly season ticket holders come first. How long has he been the spokesman for us all?

It was very badly expressed and Micaljo should acknowledge the same. The essential point, however, is important. We should not appoint a caretaker manager simply because he has a good initial run. Such things are commonplace. If SOD is the best man for the job now [and I'm certain he is - by a mile] he will remain so even if Carver achieves 3 or 4 good results. The message is don't get carried away - you might end up with Blackwell 2.

Christmas, a stressful time, particularly for families.
Time to pass the sherry round.

Amen to that. And hats off to Mic for getting his wind up through in flying style. Not only has he cranked the assembled masses up he has them raging against each other. I thought it had all the subtlety of half a pound of shit through your letterbox. Hey ho.

Surely Lenners, you would be better passing the port though. Even if its to crowbar an old advert back into modern times :)

I see this as being a rather pointless post.

As has been said why set out an open post to John Carver on this forum? Why say he's tainted by association with Blackwell when it was Speed who brought him in? Why say he will never ever be capable of managing United? Why make assumptions that we aren't speaking to SOD or that we can't afford the compensation? Why praise Ryan for courting publicity and discussing publically what is mere speculation at this point?

I also don't want Carver to become our next manager short of a miraculous 3/4 game turnaround that has us playing like Brazil and winning 8-0 each game but really what is the point in this post? The club have announced no news until the new year and despite recent failures in our manager recruitment processes I just think we need to give the club a chance to make the right appointment. McCabe has stated compensation won't stop us getting the right man in and I don't believe for a minute that we won't be talking with O'Driscoll amongst other managers.

Christmas, a stressful time, particularly for families.
Time to pass the sherry round.

The fino is empty, Micalijo supped it all.

Bit of a longshot lenny but I don't suppose you kept your heroes post from after the Spurs match did you? I know you're a modest soul so are unlikely to have kept such an era-defining piece of prose to, excuse me for using the modern vernacular, big-up yourself in the future but if you've got it tucked away, can I request you post it over the festive period? Christmas Day would be ideal.

A donation to Help the Heroes from Cooper Towers if it appears.

Cheers
