Carver Out

Maybe so Len, but none of them are clearly in the game of splashing their cash into the clubs kitty otherwise there would have been no need to spread Sharp's transfer fee over the length of his contract and they wouldnt be any need to sell their best players every year.

For the record, Sharp signed a 3 year deal less than 6 months ago. £1.15m was the fee. Unless my abacus is on the blink they still owe us a few quid short of £1m.

So, like i say. Ryan knows we have him over a barrell when it comes to financial negotiations.

I'd hazard a guess one or two responses would have been substantially different if JC hadn't scraped a 1-0 on Saturday.

Pure genius!

The point is that they did beat a top-of-the table side with an excellent away record - and Quinny's goal should have counted I gather.

(Another one who needs psychiatric help...)

I might have expressed it differently but if United are to be believed about stamping a new culture on the club, a close acolyte of Blackwell is not the way to go.
That should be clear to all of us, no?

JC? Xmas? Hmmm, if he's still here come Easter Monday we'll be going up....

You're kidding?
The very fact they're spending £1.15m on a player when their gates are not much bigger than Scunny's says a lot.
Healy's wages won't have been cheap and I'd hazard a guess they're paying good wages relative to the club's income.
There's no chance at all we'll have them over a financial barrel. None.
What we will have is the moral high ground if SOD wants to come and that might help nudge compo down slightly. But it won't be much.

It'll be what his contract says it is. Not a penny more. it is likely to be less for a Championship club than a Prem [new noun - OED take note].

Really? But even assuming that's true, it doesn't necessarily mean they're donating money to Rovers.

It's true.

Ryan is only one director of three. The other two directors have way more money than Ryan and all three are quoted in the football directors rich list.

How far they want to go with their toy is anyone's guess, but baring in mind KM has gone as far as he wishes to go from a personal financial point of view, then it makes it seem like Donny have more financial resource at the moment than we do

They haven't spent 1.15 mil yet as they still owe us money, so they are the ones over a financial barrel.

How are they over a barrel?
If the agreement says they pay whatever they owe us over a given period than that's it. End of story. We don't have any stick with which to beat them, we haven't got any chance of saying "Pay up now if you don't let us have your manager".
Whatever they owe us for Sharp is irrelevent.

I have no idea whether SoD is coming, but if he does become our new manager, can we please have a name change for Mic (for just a month) to something suitable please?

Maybe their not over a Barrel, but I wouldn't say that money is irrelevent not if we right it off as compo for S'OD. Its a debt they have to us, we'll not demand it, but it is something we can use as a very big bargaining chip. Which puts us on a very even playing field.

Sorry John pal but you aint wanted at BDTBL, thousands of loyal Blades do not want you as manager of the club, rule yer sen out and as Linz suggested to me the other day - do one. You will destroy our fanbase and rule thousands out of buying a season ticket. You are a coach, a trainer, a decent bloke who loves organising a training session. You are tainted by association with Blackwell and you will never, ever be capable of managing SUFC. Please accept this and bugger off gracefully, returning to the game when Blackie gets another job.

Hope this helps.

For what it's worth, I don't think Birchy could run a piss up in a brewery. We aint speaking to Sean because we can't afford the compo and therefore no point. Very, very sad state of affairs and I applaud Ryan for the way he has dealt with it all so far. Just wish we had the same leadership.

Tad harsh on the fella Mic lad but if that's what it takes to get the message across that second best is no longer acceptable then so be it.

Ridiculous statement from a wind up merchant Mic? I'm guessing your either pissed, bored or both.

Sorry John pal but you aint wanted at BDTBL, thousands of loyal Blades do not want you as manager of the club,

Now all who have slated Mic for this. You all know he is the spokesman for us all, you all know he has the best polling facilities to ask us all not just on this forum but access to all Blades fans. If you didn't get your ballot paper I'm sure he'll be in touch with you.

Personally to me it doesn't matter if Carver rules himself in or out of the job. We NEED him right now and I want him to continue the best he knows out and in the best knowledge he does have a chance. the whole fucking world is tellng us how fickle our fans are yet we want to ditch our caretaker manager.

Let's all start the music, let's all light the lights, because it's time to get started on the Micaliijo show tonight. Muppet

Wait, if we dump the caretaker manager, does that make Morgan the caretaker-caretaker manager? Do we need to hire a caretaker manager again before we hire a permanent manager?

Of course it's relavent. If we take SOD and let them off the rest of the Sharp money.

Trouble with making Morgan caretaker manager if we get rid of Carver is that if we scrape another lucky win like we did on Saturday then McCabe might start thinking about Morgan as a long term option and that is just what we DONT want.

I don't think even Scrooge McCabe would try pulling that one off, to be honest.

Every day I'm glad I'm not Micalijo!

:D

I think many of us can identify with that sentiment! But you have to remember that he is a wind up merchant, just not a very good one. He lacks the intelligence of Lenners or the humour of Olle, two attributes that can save WUMs from being nothing more than a complete pain in the arse.

Meanwhile a village somewhere or other in deepest South Yorkshire bemoans its lack of an idiot........

You not forgot we have a Cashflow forecast showing a shortage of £5.3 million ?

I would have thought any money due in from Doncaster for Billy would be in that Forecast, if we forgo that, then the shortfall just increases, not good especially if it is in the £100,000s.

I would imagine that if SOD does come here, Ryan may see that as an opportunity to reduce his wage bill and do away with the debt to SUFC by returning Billy in the same Taxi as SOD.

If Donny dont pay us Billy would revert to being our player, just chucking that one in for fun

I can't imagine why on earth he would see an action of losing his manager and joint-top scorer as an "opportunity", but maybe that's just me.

If you ever make it out of the upper reaches of your own arse Mic, maybe we'll get some sense out of you...

Birch to Ryan, We want SOD, whats it gonna take ?

Ryan replies, £500,000 and you take Billy back and we owe you nowt

Birch to McCabe, its gonna cost £500,000 for SOD, we lose the Transfer money owed to us, and Billy is back on our Payroll.

McCabe replies, fuck that - give Ellis the job.

What is this 'lucky win'. If you were there then you know the players effort was great and we were the better side. sometimes i'd just like people to aknowledge that we won and got the result. When we lose , people dont come on and say we had an Unlucky loss, they always wish to point out 'but we still didn't get the result.

Scunthorpe at home this season being a case in point.

All you need to do is look up the value of Donny Rovers board.
Unless they all decide they suddenly want to spend not a penny more, there's absolutely no chance SUFC will have them over a financial barrel for anything, anytime soon.
They ain't spending like confetti but thinking they'd melt if it came to compo because they need money is miles wide of the mark.
