Sorry John pal but you aint wanted at BDTBL, thousands of loyal Blades do not want you as manager of the club, rule yer sen out and as Linz suggested to me the other day - do one. You will destroy our fanbase and rule thousands out of buying a season ticket. You are a coach, a trainer, a decent bloke who loves organising a training session. You are tainted by association with Blackwell and you will never, ever be capable of managing SUFC. Please accept this and bugger off gracefully, returning to the game when Blackie gets another job.

For what it's worth, I don't think Birchy could run a piss up in a brewery. We aint speaking to Sean because we can't afford the compo and therefore no point. Very, very sad state of affairs and I applaud Ryan for the way he has dealt with it all so far. Just wish we had the same leadership.
 



As you're fully in the know as to what's going on at the Lane, can you explain who we are going to hire, and why it's taking so long to make the announcement official?

Give the guy a break, for gods sake. Do I want him as Manager? No thankyou. But your stance is ridiculous frankly. After all, didn't we just get 3 points under his leadership. Good enough for me, for a Caretaker Manager.

Why is he tainted by Blackwell? Yes he coached under Blackwell at Leeds and Luton, but he has had nothing to do with Blackwell in his time here?

Is he similarly tainted by having Sir Bobby Robson choose him as coach at Newcastle? Or would you see that as a positive?

Don't get me wrong, I don't think he is the man for the job, but trying to bring Blackwell into the argument is a bit sad.

Also, why the personal appeal in the first paragraph? Carver isn't reading this. If you want him to, write him a letter. As for the last paragraph, lenners already has the market cornered...

Carver might be a reight nice guy BUT not the cheap as chips option again ! ........too big a risk to take in my opinion.

Mic, we sing from the same hymn sheet on most things but Ryan has been a fool in the way he has dealt with things so far and has only succeeded in making himself look like a toy-town chairman of a toy-town club. As stated on another thread, Donny and Ryan have contributed to the "hype" more than anyone else, they chose to comment on the rumours, Ryan chose to come out and say he "expected an approach from SUFC" and that if that approach came he would "let SOD know but compensation would be substantial" both Ryan and their chief exec have also said "we expect Sean to stay" and "Sheffield United fans wouldn't give him time" etc, etc.....

SUFC have (rightly or wrongly) remained silent on the issue and have only confirmed that we will take our time to get the right man and that Carver is in charge over Christmas. NEVER has Birch or McCabe mentioned SOD at all, maybe he isn't even on our radar and it's all scaremongering bollocks from Ryan to demonstrate to SOD that he belongs at Donny....

Either way Ryan should keep his mouth firmly shut and only pass comment when something official happens, leadership my arse.

All perfectly fair comments.

I just think it is very refreshing to hear a chairman tell people what he is thinking. Birch has made statements imo which suggested that SOD was our target. Why should Ryan pussy foot around the subject?

Indeed, it's not that long ago that Ryan was being applauded for taking the 'we don't comment on speculation at this club' stance.

Mic's problem is brought about by the fact that he is prepared to believe everything coming out of Doncaster but makes up his own mind about what he thinks is happening at the Lane and presumes Birch and McCabe are either lying, incompetent or both.

I don't see anything remotely amusing about John Carver being anywhere near the manager's office at BDTBL.
 
Tha'd be paying a fiver to watch a game all the agents would get a kick up the arse as they left the office with nowt.

After following the Blades for over 50 years, I can honestly say that I've never been more ashamed that when I read this post.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but Micalijo I am in complete disagreement with your comments. (That doesn't mean necessarily that I want Carver as our Manager, but nor does it mean I don't).

I'd hazard a guess one or two responses would have been substantially different if JC hadn't scraped a 1-0 on Saturday.
I might have expressed it differently but if United are to be believed about stamping a new culture on the club, a close acolyte of Blackwell is not the way to go.
That should be clear to all of us, no?

Ha ha ha, top post Mic. Really got me chuckling and I completely agree. If we are to be ambitous then Carver is not our man. If Carver has United's best interests at heart (whether he believes in his ability or not) he should sling his hook. I might have told him in a slightly nicer way ;) but what you state is spot on.

Perhaps he could come and help me build my shed!? Carver step aside for SOD (or Micky Adams), get in the car down the M1 and make yourself useful helping Ollessendro build his shed.

Now don't be cynical SC. Are you seriously suggestion that Micalijo did this post for a bit of a reaction? That is out of line. We don't encourage that sort of thing on here ;)
 
SoD is SUFC's man. Just a matter of time. Which renders this thread pointless.

As for Ryan - he signed a striker on finance which he still owes a lot of money for. This doesnt put him in the best of positions for negotiation over compensation.

He knows as well as anyone else that SoD is coming to Bramall Lane and he's flapping in the media to ruffle feathers whilst we quietly go about the formalities of making it happen.
 
Presty, bar QPR, Donny have by far the richest board in this league.
