I stand corrected. I watched him the whole of the game on Sunday and thought he was left-footed. Maybe he is one of those mystical players who can use both feet a bit. We never seem to be able to find those players.

I reckon the ability to play on the left really comes down to two things. Firstly, in attack the ability to cross a ball on the run without cutting back and secondly in defence to show the opposition the outside rather than inside channel. Left footed players will do this more naturally. Right footers can also do this, but it's not usually first nature and you'll usually use them in more attacking roles where you want them to cut inside.

Think he did his cruciate just after he'd broke into Chelsea's team

He'll be absolutely starving for an opportunity to play regularly and we could feed him that opportunity

You'd expect him to naturally end up at Palace but PL interest and a regular start at that level isn't guaranteed after that injury
