When asked about what direction Leeds should take regards a new manager.
He said they should have had Sean Dyche, really rates him as a manager and is now certain Everton will stay up.

Palmer said he fears for his old club Leeds and thinks they are in serious danger of being relegated, said it all depends on who they appoint as manager.

Palmer then said "I live in Sheffield and Sheffield United fans won't thank me for this but I'd recommend Leeds to go for Paul Heckingbottam"
Palmer said "He's doing a remarkable job at Sheff Utd and they now look certain to be promoted"

Not sure why it can be considered remarkable when he has one of the highest budgets and best squads in the league.
Surely Hecky is just doing a "good" job.

I'd say the managers of Millwall and Luton are the ones doing a remarkable job.

Simon Jordan wasn't exactly enthused either saying that Leeds are potentially a huge club.
Basically Jordan was inferring that Leeds should be able to attract almost any manager, so they should be setting their sights far higher than Paul Heckingbottam.
Jim White also said "hasn't he already been a manager a Leeds and didn't have the best of records"

I said something similar when we were in the prem under Warnock, had he kept us up, sack him, if we go down keep him

however, that was with the benefit of hindsight, we dont know if PH could be a good prem manager, who he would bring in with any money available? etc.
Surely with what he has achieved with injuries, embargo, club up for sale etc he has at least earned the right to have a crack at it?

Next problem - 'if' we did follow you UEFA A backed guidance FF, who would we get - and be serious, Hassenhutl was on £6m a year, thats £115,000 a week, never gonna pay that

Paul has done a very good job no doubt on face value 1000%

Howvever has he actually done that well ? With this squad i expect us to be where we are but you would expect us to be playing much better IMO and i dont see us gettimg better we are playing poorly and clinging on to the results

Also what has he done bar do what Wilder did play 3-5-2 , and i dont see the Centre backs overlapping too much more anyway

I just dont see the results following oncnext seaon if hopefully we do go up , Ndiaye has carried but in the prem every team has an Ndiaye and most have 2 or 3 of those players

I would go for someone like hassenhutl 100% and corberan or managers of that ilk , if you go through all the managers in the prem they are now all top class managers and for me the managher is more important than any £50 million striker

When you conider Wolves have just appoint Lopategi Villa Emery and Leeds will no doubt get a top class manager they are all level above our Paul IMO


It would be very very harsh to get rid of a manager who has just gone up , but so what. If leeds wanted him im sure he would leave its a cut throat business IMO

Outside of the prem, we arent even in the bottom bracket.

2nd line, or not fully proved
Arteta, Howe, Frank, Potter, Emery, Rogers, Lopetegi, Moyes, Dyche

Gamble
De Zerbi, Silva, Viera, Cooper, O'Neill, Jones

then there is a pot who will be back in a job but on name alone
Gerrard, Lampard, Marsch, Nuno, Lage etc

I'd rather stick with Hecky who got us there than take a punt on any of that lot
