Throughout his praise or grumble interview constantly referring to them making mistakes, no mention of it being us causing them to make those mistakes whatsoever.
And, "I sleep and wake thinking of we*nesday". No fucking shit mate, do you think the fans don't?

What an absolute penis head and utter ninny! And one who won't be there much longer imo.

if he does leave i'm waiting for the backlash in the spanish press, mr brexit gets shut of another foreigner etc etc

Ultimately, I have some sympathy for Carlos because everything comes from the top.

They have an owner who thinks that simply spunking money on overpriced players will get them promotion by itself, who doesn't mind trampling all over tradition in an effort to prove that the club somehow belongs to him, rather than the fans.

Right now Carlos is under a severe amount of pressure, both from the chairman and the fans.
The funny thing is this works against them much more than they realise. After every defeat or even draw fans call for his head, which makes him petrified of defeat causing him to set up his side even more defensively, leading to dull, insipid performances, meaning the fans get on his back even more.. and on and on..

This is exactly why you build, rather than buy, a team. Exactly as we are doing

Pains me to say it but you are bang on.

How aggressive was Rob Staton in that interview though? Very strange to listen to.

It's to your credit that you're honest enough to admit it. Shame your chairman seems to have little connection with the fanbase or he might actually understand that.
Good to know theres reasonable owls out there as well in any case.

Got no problem with Carlos at all. He was very gracious in defeat (as Wilder acknowledged) and even congratulated us on promotion back in April.

If he ever wants a job on our Under-18's coaching team, I would welcome him.

I admire the fact that your manager has taken the drastic step of having to coach his players to improve them and get them playing as a cohesive unit. The horror of it in this day and age.

Take Joao on Sunday, I thought that he was one of our players that could come out of the match with any credit whatsoever. He hasn't even been on the bench lately. He has flaws to his game which have been obvious since he signed. Mainly he can be too weak and he overplays when he should pass. Now why not try and coach this out of him instead of wasting money on another striker and then when that doesn't work out sign another striker etc etc.

Try and improve Joao a little, save 8 million on Rhodes and invest in areas where we have been weak since the bloody play off final a couple of years ago.

In short I have admiration for the way you are going about things. Again, it is painful to admit but you deserve everything that you are getting at the moment and Wilder is a credit to his profession.

I like Joao. He's as raw as the two we were in for in August whose agents/clubs fucked up their chances. But he has pace and power which is what we needed. I'd have him to develop. If he didn't improve his first touch in 12 months then I might give in. What I couldn't understand is how it took Carlos so long to understand that Fletcher & Hooper (good player him) were his best options up front.

Wilder and Knill and their team are indeed a credit to their profession...their record is incredible....not just the result at the weekend.....that was a cherry on the top! :)

He basically stumbled on to Fletcher and Hooper partnership by accident due to injuries. Yeah, Hooper is class, I rate him as our best player. Offers more than just goals.

Joao has deserved more chances than he has had recently. He has his flaws but he is our only player with pace that offers something a bit different.

You say Carlos is silly sausage? But what is sausage without the tuna? What are the fans without the grunt? The best team win in the restaurant, but on the field the owls will fly in the sea with the tuna and become pigs once more.

Well every goal can be attributed to a defensive mistake, can't it? And I don't blame him for concentrating on his team, not ours - if he said we were good he'd probably lose the last of the good will of their fans.
I would say, of our goals, 2 and 4 came from poor defensive mistakes and their first one did. That's not to take anything away from Leon, they still have to be made and finished. Our 1st and 3rd and their 2nd were quality goals of skill and great play.
