I thought he was a twat when we scored that goal against Villa that never was and how jokey he was about it all, but thought it was a bit hypocritical considering how he'd gone off at Leeds 12 months before about them giving a goal back when Leeds scored with a Villa player down injured.

But I got over it.

Cantwell - luxury player, not skilful enough for a transfer to a 'footballing team' like Man C, Liverpool, even Arsenal. Too lightweight for a 'battling team' like Burnley, Everton, Newcastle. probably found his home in a 'try to play football but yoyo team' like Norwich. dont think id take him at the Lane TBH. Unless you had a couple of midfield enforcers either side (Brown, Monty etc) and that style has gone now - players have to be multi skilled - the days where you had Keane winning it for Giggs & Becks, or Viera for Bergkamp etc. now Kante wins it and creates, Antonio is all over the pitch and so on

Smith - name me a manager who doesnt come across as a bit of a cunt at times? Even new teeth Klopp showed his inner devil around the number of subs conversation with Wilder. How do we think WIlders Peroni swilling, Chris the Redeemer on town hall balcony appeared?
Smith seems to come across with a bit of nark at times, but he did well at Brentford, then at Villa kept them up and built them into a mid table team, albeit with budget. however Everton, Leeds, Palace etc have also spent. and I would put them in the same pool

Don't mind him as a person tbf but he's a cheque book manager. Thought he was great at Brentford but then they looked better when Frank took over and I really don't rate his time at Villa. Massively underperformed with the budget he was given and look how Gerrard has done with the same set of players.
