It's a log while away, and it seems we only have 2 fit centre halves, one of them is young Harrison McGahey. The other a very hot and cold Neill Collins.

If we were to FINALLY sign a centre half, I think now would be the perfect time to do it...

I personally think if we don't, the defence is too fragile and we'll continue the patchy form we've started with. Will that see us out of the race for the top 2?

It's very risky, and considering we've lost Murphy and shed Higdon's wages it's surely a risk we don't need to take. If Fulham don't want to sell Burn move on, we have no bodies or quality, we haven't since we sold Harry and it's going to cost us.

Does anyone really think we can cope without?
If you can, fair enough but please just state why.
Personally, I don't. No matter how good we are going forward.

Of course we can survive, if that's the limit of your aspirations
The question is - Will we be tight enough in defence to concede fewer goals and get into the top two places if we don't strengthen at the CB position?

Besides - I'd be pairing Collo with Basham for CB until then - but we would need to strengthen midfield if we do that - perhaps Coutts in the centre

We would muddle through but would not be challenging the top 2 is my view and that I'm afraid defeats the object somewhat

That defence is not good enough to seriously consider getting the results required to mount a serious challenge

We are in danger here of fkin up what could be a very realistic opportunity to get out of this division

The club for once got it right with the appointment of Adkins only to now sit back and dawdle.

I'm to worried about our shortcomings in centre midfield and goalkeeper now something else.

We'll stay out of the relegation zone, but as for pushing the top two slots, we need to be a lot more like Newcastle under keegan.

But we have added Sharp, Sammon, Edgar and Woolfords wages.

I work on a theory. The more threads you make about the same point the less impact it has and hence the less credibility. Danny please take this advice as it's meant because you do on this occasion have a point but not unlike the tale about the boy who cried wolf, because you have done it to death no one takes your point seriously. On this occasion it's a shame because we really do need someone or perhaps two in. In the 12 or so games we have played this season that much is apparent. We also need midfield enforcer type. If we don't then we are winging it. We may get away with it but that doesn't make it right to do so. Our back 4 is flimsy and hence our keeper appears to be almost constantly under pressure. This is compounded by a lack of strength in midfield to protect the back 4.

In fairness we had all those before we lost Murphy and Higdon's.

You're right but those 4 could have taken us over our wage budget. I don't understand however how we haven't been able to sell/loan more players out even if it is for 50% of their wages.

Because no one wants our shit players!
I'm fairly sure if we can find a club to take Higdon we can find a club to take pretty much anyone!

Most of our s**t players would get in lower end league 1 teams.

For me Basham's the best CH in the club so my first choice at present would be him and Collins. It that doesn't pan out we can look to shore it up in January with Burn or whoever we can persuade to come to the club.

Think we have good cover at CH in McGahey, Kennedy and Edgar.

Midfield, you can perm any three or four from six, although, I would certainly be looking to strengthen things up in the middle [someone with a lot more experience and powers of leadership than we have right now].

The strike force will keep us In and around the playoffs all season... But the defence and midfield if left un strengthened will keep us out of the top two.

The strike force will keep us in contention until Adams is sold...most likely in early January
