Am I the only one that still thinks we have a chance of promotion? When we get through the injury problems I see no reason why we shouldn't have enough time and the right players to give make a impact on the playoffs and with a bit of luck maybe even automatic. U.T.B.

Don't think we will get automatic promotion to far behind and to far stronger teams than us covering top two positions. Play offs dependent on other teams having a bad spell. Would suspect of the present top six, Blackpool will fade and possibly Leicester. Nothing is impossible when it comes to the Blades

Depends how long Blackwell stays. If he's still here come Christmas we'll be lower mid-table at the end of the season. We're hopefully too good to go down, we're certainly not going up under Blackwell.

My view is that if we had started to put a run together, even 2-3 games winning back to back then there may have been a situation that the optimistic amoungst us may have ventured to look at promotion However we are in a bad spell and given that we robbed Barnsley of a point having not a shot on target apart from the pens there seems nothing to suggest anything like promotion. Indeed I concur with Flawed that under Blackwell we will certainly not make the play offs and if things don't turn round rather quickly we may be looking over our shoulder at the Relegation dog fight!!!

I don't think we have any chance of promotion even if we do have an upturn in form because:

- I think we're too far back to finish in the top 2; and
- that leaves the playoffs. I have zero faith that this club will ever win a playoff tournament.

Before the injury "crisis" and the complete fall off in results, we were still playing poorly. Teams have got the measure of our Plan A and Plan B still isn't properly formed.

It would take a miracle to a. Get everybody fit and b. Turn the performances around into promotion stylie ones.

The simple answer is (IMO) no.

Grecian states it that we haven't really played well this season. We were scraping games before we beat Wednesday and since then we know what has happened. Fiery sums it up that we are closer to relegation form than promotion. The performance against Barnsley summed up our current run: we are playing like a team fighting to stay in the championship, not get out of it. I just can't see Blackwell turning this around.

Does anyone believe that if sheffield are successful as a host city for the 2018 world cup bid, obviously bramall lane as the ground, McCabe will do more to try and get us in the premier league and stay in it?

Not wanting to be accused of fence sitting but a lot can (and probably will) happen in the next 8 - 10 weeks. Come back and ask at the end of January

.....run of winnable games coming up.......other clubs will have their bad run soon.......still in the Cup........do well in the JTW........

Have we been here before Jim??:hello:

May i point you in the direction of this article which will assist you in properly punctuating your sentences. I'm not having a dig, but the odd comma here or there would greatly improve the readability of your sentences for other forum readers.

It's for your benefit mate, so you'll get better/more responses.

I think he will do more to get us in the premiership, and stay in it, as he'll have to pay for the ground from somewhere.

Whether he's actually still chairman by that time is another matter.
