Can we stay up next season?

I think if we get off to a poor start next season, then we will be in real trouble, then Blackwell will go and it will be another crossroads at the club. Appoint the right manager and we can start to get things moving forwards again, get the wrong man in and we could well be staring at relegation

I think we'll stay up but only just, a relegation battle might at least re-ignite a bit of interest.

Have you renewed yet Len/Duncs?

I probably will though there's only a week to go and I've still not really thought about when I'll actually do it.
Still find it remarkable that there has been absolutely nothing from the club about next season.
The sales are terrible and we're doing nothing about it.
I'd like to think Bob's rumour has something to it but everything points to us being skint and simply planning to become absolutely skint with the likely consequences for next season.
Bizarre way to run the club.

I predict a relegation scrap next season as well.
we have been well & truly found out now in this league & with Blackwell in charge we will be fighting relegation for sure.

As it stands we should be concerned. But we have no idea what the budget will be and who we might sign. If we're stuck with Evans up front, we're in a relegation battle.

We're clearly not stacked with cash and yet the most expensive requirement by far will be a striker. You could cry when you think we groomed a top one, gave him away, bought him back for £2M, couldn't get him to score, gave him away again - and at every period other than that with us, he's been prolific. To completely rub salt in the wounds, we've squandered £3M on a replacement who is utter crap. You really couldn't make it up.

Momentum is a big thing in a football club and no-one can doubt that we are on a downward slide, if we have another summer of negativity, fudged decisions and castoff signings we will be well and truly in the relegation fight and I wouldn't be surprised if we went down. The summer months are going to be very interesting; Blackwell clearly thinks this as well which is why he is trying to put pressure on the board to fund a proper recruitment programme for next season. I wonder if he will have the balls to resign if he fails to convince them. I doubt it.

Hmmm....

Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer
The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune,
Or to take arms against a sea of troubles,
And by opposing end them?

I had very little respect for Steve Bruce - then an unproven manager - chucking in the towel because the board didn't make his life easy enough.

So long as a manager knows his budget and it isn't cut arbitrarily, then he's nothing to complain about. Get the chuff on with it. It's what you're paid for.

Anyway... late for the game now.....

I don't think were in for a relegation scrap but we will be around the bottom 5 at xmas the board will act on our shit manager and a new guy will bring some confidence in enough to take us to mid table.
