Came across this when looking for the play-off dates (please no) and couldn't find any further information on it

https://www.efl.com/clubs-and-competitions/key-dates/

  • 'Championship Final Day – Sunday 5 May 2019 (12:30pm kick-off)'

    • Championship Play-Off Final – Monday 27 May 2019

    • Monday 7 May – EFL summer transfer window open
I'd be 99% sure the answer is no, or that we can make signings but they can only be registered for the 2019-20 season.

Can anyone shed any light on this please?

Edit: I realize that the Monday 7th May refers to the opening of the transfer window last year, so if its the same format would that be the 6th this year? I can't recall any team making a signing for the play-offs but you never know. In honesty I hope we can't sign players...because that means other clubs can't sign players with ridiculous loan fees we can't afford xD

This post is an April fool right?

The sad thing is I'm genuinely not joking :(

Isn't it funny how boredom manifests itself..........

Not going to happen but just how ironic would it be that a small factor in us getting relegated was due to an illegal player's goal - and then to return to that league by signing a new player in time for the PO final and scoring the winner!

Well if you're sad FM, then so am I.
I thought it was a great question.
In fact I still do.....what's the answer?!

Let’s see the transfer window for this season closed on the 31st of January...,

Now, the last time I looked the play offs were scheduled for this season...... so what do you reckon?

If we are in the play offs and Ched and Leon return to us before they start are they eligible to play for us?

On Football Manager I recall that being possible in previous yesrs, then again that's not real life.

And if we make a signing on May 8th are they able to play also?

No they’re not. Last season the system changed – rather than clubs being able to specify a return date for a player’s registration after a loan (say 4 May) it instead remains with the loan club till the window reopens after the playoff final has happened.

FYI, the relevant bit of the EFL rules preventing returning loan players from playing in their parent club’s playoffs is 55.1.4:

A Player whose Standard Loan expires (or terminates) at the end of the Season of the Transferee Club but prior to the completion of the League Matches of his Transferor Club (where it is a Member Club) will not be eligible to play in any remaining League Matches for the Transferor Club in that Season
