December for me. if we need to change then a new man should get a few weeks to look at it before the transfer window opens. I really really want him to succeed but it's either his tactics or the players who are the problem. No football intelligence is used by our players.

Will take a season to clear out the insipid crap and perennial underachievers.

Doyle, Collins, Flynn, Murphy, Williams et al all need moving along and it will take time. Madness getting on the managers back already - we can't keep sacking managers as we'll never get out of this rut. My only criticism of Weir is the lack of tempo on and off the ball, but some of the players need a rocket.

We're about 4 players away from a decent team in this system though I do worry about finding a striker who can score, run beyond AND play with his back to he goal. Strengthening needed here:

Or we could look at 4-4-2. Then we need an athletic centre mid who can tackle and pass, a left winger and a striker.

Personally I'd always want to give it a season to really see. In the case of Robson it was Christmas by the time I'd had enough!

I think Weir needs more time than any manager over the past 7-8 years, not because I don't rate him, but because of what he is trying to do with what he's got. In many ways that patience is even more important with the new investors. Everyone wants results now... God knows we need the lift.

But If we get these extra two players in then the whole side is almost a completely new side from the one that started last season. Perhaps only Collins, Harry and Doyle will remain from the start of last season.

And add to that he's working with fitness levels, skill levels/ differing abilities and perhaps players seeing their mates leave, it's a lot to change.

It's not excuses, it's just the way it is. However the sooner things start to click together the better.

Id give Weir the full season myself. Hes inherited a squad bereft of striking & goal scoring talent.

Lets see who he brings in over the next few days & ships out.

2 'proven' goal scorers at this level should now be top priority.

The main problem is, we are signing 18/19/20 year olds, who have to come in and settle down with little experience....... we have decent 18/19/20 year olds in our reserve/u18s. Its pretty frustrating being a fan atm.
