can we do it .YES WE CAN

Yes of course we can :)

Only because it is possible with some good recruitment and planning though. With our current crop of players I couldn't see it.

Anything is theoretically possible. Unless a vast majority of the first team are shipped out and replaced with a decent squad with synergy and purpose then I feel the downward momentum of the club will continue.

We need 8 players IMO if we're to have a real shot at getting up.

As it stands I'd be happy with a top half finish.

As long as we improve our keeping, defending & attacking - & add some much needed pace - I think we could be in with a shout....

WHO ELSE THINKS WE WILL GO STRAIGHT BACK UP NEXT SEASON i recon so

It's possible, but unlikely unless we make significant changes to our playing staff. If we don't make changes we will have another season struggling at the wrong end of the table.

Yeah we can. Our first five games are against teams that finished outside the top 6 last season. I know this normally doesn't matter but I think that means we need to be winning all five.

Alot can change between now and kick-off but as it stands now a relegated club with a board that has watched as the club has tumbled down the leagues. A manager that the fans will be calling for his head if he doesn't start off winning
.Rumours of selling off any player that earns a wage or will bring in a fee,a club that can't hold onto its's kids.
Words like ambition being pumped into the club as usual instead of funds it doesn't sound like a promotion bound club to me.
Hey we can do it.

looking at the fixture list then we should do it. Reality sets in when you will be playing Rochdale instead of Reading

So apart from the keeping, defending, attacking and pace... We're alright? :)

We'll be fine.

Keeping Slew, Maguire & Lowton are musts.

If MacFadzean and Whitehouse can break through too (not sure they can?) it'll all bode well. I fancy Cresswell next season. Think it could be his swan song

1. A. N. Other
2. Lowton
3. Taylor / Replacement
4. Montgomery / Replacement
5. Morgan
6. Maguire
7. Yeates (could be a good year for him.)
8. Williamson / Replacement
9. Slew
10. Henderson / Cresswell
11. JP McGovern ?

If we start with something resembling that, i'm happy. I think Quinn & Evans will go. Montgomery will go to Leeds or QPR other than them I honestly can't see him leaving.

Willo could be sold. Need a keeper. And I think Andy Taylor could do ok (injury depending) got Tranmere player of year award in this league.

That defence would concede far too many goals - no pace at all. I hope we learn the lesson from last season when teams found it all too easy to get through on our goal by simply sprinting away from our pedestrian defence. On the other hand, Henderson & Slew would cause havoc at this level.

No. We're Fecked.

Lucky if we finish higher than the Pigs did this season. Too much to change and not enough time to gel.
Get a poor start and we will be struggling all season.
We never play well at Oldham - apart from one amazing 5-0 win I recall - so the start we will be looking for will be on the back foot from day one.

Morale is lower than a snakes gnads. Trying to change the method of play and incorporate the amount of changes required to the squad into a coherent team that can achieve something is a very tall order indeed. The size of the club and the expectation will be a millstone of mammoth proportions. Everyone will want to put one over SUFC and they will make extra effort to do so.

This is not Championship Manager where you can switch it off an reload a previously saved game.
It's real and it's complex and it's going to be a real struggle.

we will finish above the grunters i recon

I admire your optimism and indeed hope you're right.

However, me being a betting man, I wouldn't lay money on it in a million years!

I have to agree with most of that post!

hey ....................... with me in charge we wud piss the league an get promoted as Champions !
however back to the real world with the crap at BDTBL both on and off the field mid table at best!

We dont even know what team we will be putting out. Any delusions of a Henderson/Slew striking partnership are not realistic. Hendo will nopt be here and maybe even Slew wont be. We will also lose Evans, Quinn and probably Monty. Wednesday will probably finish above us and im not joking.

don,t think so ,why all this negativity, seems to me you lot are hoping we do,nt do well. well i say up the blades , i for 1 think we will do well,

Agreed.
This negativity is doing my tits in-if people want us to fail, and call themselves supporters then fuck off to s6.
I honestly believe we`ll do well in this league, there are some shit teams in this division-hoofers-and if its going all to dannys plan,we could play a lot of teams of the park.
The trouble is if we dont do straight away-the boo boys will be taking there shoes off.

I honestly can't see how were going to do anything unless there are major improvements

Out of interest gav, why shouldn't we expect to be doing it straight away? Surely were a club with the resources to storm this division?

Im not negative im just realistic these days. Why will we walk the league? Last season we lost 2-0 to Hartlepool. Scunthorpe beat us twice, Preston put 3 past us. If we tackled this division as we were with no changes, we would have the highest wage bill by miles and finish midtable.
