Can somebody please explain to me

John Fleck. We have a lot of talented players but so much is created by him, he always seems to have time on the ball and his work rate is superb. He has been a pleasure to watch this season. If only we had had a functioning fax machine we could have signed him years ago.

I for one am extremely relieved now that we had a dodgy faz machine that night. If he had signed for us at that time, he would have been a young lad learning his trade and would have been chucked into a piss poor side under management who were either scared of their own shadow and in awe of all the teams in this super talented division, or he would have been misused and been dropped and probably given a free transfer. Either that or flogged cheaply and be playing for the likes of MK Dons now. As it is, he was able to learn his trade at Coventry and then we picked him up when the time wa's right. For once fate was on our side.

In answer to the question, talent wise probably Fleck is our best player, but the most important to sufc....step forward Billy.

I am so pleased it is working out for Billy on his third spell here cos he loves the club and was spectacularly mismanaged under the oaf's that were drunkard Robson, and Crasse n Blackwell. I'm a big big critic of Adkins and thought he was bloody hopeless but I will thank him for bringing back Billy. The one good thing he did for us.

Billy epitomises everything about Utd under Mr Wilder.

We didn't have a piss poor side when Wilson tried to sign him.
He would have joined a team that finished the season with 90 points.
He could potentially have played the Doyle role better than Doyle and the MacDonald role better than MacDonald.
Certainly on current form possibly not when he was younger
Still would have been a great option to have available that season though.

Slightly skews the discussion and Others may disagree, but with the dearth of left footed CBs (especially English ones), I'm extremely nervous about our ability to hang on to O'Connell.

He really has grown in to a real player and the flexibility to play LB when we shift to a back 4 when we chase the game - plus more and more sides are following Conte (and Tufty's) lead and playing 3 at the back.

Sadly I see a shit kicking (Burnley, West Brom) coming in and taking a punt on him.

POTY is going to be incredibly tough to call.

Sharp our talisman, top scorer and has won us games where we might've drawn instead.

Fleck at the heart of everything good we do, top of assists.

Coutts also chipped in with a good few assists and his presence is noticed. Same with Duffy.

Freemans goal return from RWB and overall contribution deserves recognition.

Wrights record in a Blades shirt speaks for itself. He's made an instant impact in our incredible transformation.

Basham and JOC are both worthy of praise.

Whoever wins POTY this season, the old cliche of thanks, that it is for the whole team/squad may well ring true.

Torn between my love of Fleck and that of the league's top scorer.

Fleck is our best player at the moment ,just ahead of the other 10 but the one we would miss most is Coutts as we don't have a like for like replacement ,not counting Moore. Wilder has built such a good squad we can move players about if needed and even change formation. Billy and Hanson are also vital for Billys goals and hansons ability in the air and work rate.

Think I've said before that this year's player of the year won't be chosen by the criteria of being the "least worst" for a change.
I honestly cannot pick one out.

The all time comparison of comparisons:
Last year's 'lap of honour' and this year's

Chesterfields manager says 'no negativity, please stay away' but as last years 'lap of shame' demonstrates the fans sometimes need to be negative to allow progress and enforce change.

At the Scunthorpe game last week the two players our kid highlighted were fleck and o'connel

And right enough they were outstanding
They look the most likely to make the step up and the ones the scouts will be watching

Fleck in particular is a midfielder worth the entrance fee alone
Not been able to say that before in my blades supporting life

one of the funniest things Ive ever seen at the Lane ,some gob in the boxes shouting really loud in an almost empty stadium ,Adkins youre a wanker ,Woolford youre a cunt, youre all shit ,......well done Billy. And then... Captain Blade you fucking wage stealing bastard

Nothing between Sharp and Fleck for me as things stand. If Jake Wright maintains this form (and especially if he remains unbeaten) until the end of the season though then 2 become 3. However the great thing about this squad is that effectively the question is moot. It's like asking if the wheels or the brakes are the most important part of a car. The machine works because its components are of equal importance and function well together. And the reason for that is one hell of a mechanic on the touchline.

Tha absence of Freeman would alter the shape of the team, now that Riley is injured.

Can we all just vote for everyone
