Can’t help but feel for Khadra…

He'd have been a lot better if his teammates had passed him the ball a bit more, he was always wide open, yet we went back inside or tried to play down blind alleys centrally at times. You could see him getting pissed off.

The crosses were good and 3 or 4 times he beat a man in areas and in a way not a single other player in the squad would even attempt

As soon as he was on we should have focused on playing to the right

But instead we still favoured the left, where Bogle is stifled as I said he would be

He's going to get a run now, isn't he?

It was always going to be a long season and each player would have their chance.

I think if he ends up slotting in for Sander it would seem the seas have parted for him at the right time.

He's been edging into the team. Now he'll be on for another start.

I'm quite impressed with the way in which he gets his crosses in. Even when there is a defender still blocking, he manages to bend them around and away from goal.

We have options that other teams envy. It's just down to the players to take them. Whilst unfortunate McBurnie is suspended and Berge apparently out for a bit, we at least we're up to strength in this area.

You've got probably Sharp up top against Stoke but with Brewster and Jebbo in reserve and you'll probably have Khadra and N'Diaye in support with McAtee probably being afforded more and more minutes.

Main concern now is centre mid.

Dropping Berge back was always the option. What is it now?

You start with Norwood and Doyle. And then? Berge, Fleck, Osborn, Coulibaly all out. What a pity about Coulibaly. This would be ideal for him.

Whilst I thought robbiez666 idea was a bit too radical I do now take the point on Arblaster. I think we have to start blooding him if Hecky believes in him, possibly even giving Brooks, Peck or Maguire some minutes.

We have nobody else. We're already playing a formation which requires the lowest number of central midfielders as it is!

This is where Hecky and the model we have in place kicks in. Other managers would be hitting up Transfermarkt and seeing if Drinkwater could do a job until Christmas, if ex Cardiff Bacuna who had been training with Birmingham could come in and 'do a job'.

At some point one of these lads will need to step forward.
I think it’s too late to sign anyone who’s out of contract. By the time they’re up to speed it’ll almost be the WC. Going straight from the u21s is a big jump but I don’t think we have a choice. I was a bit nervous about how the WC will affect us and if the break could be detrimental but I’m now thinking it could do us a favour. We’re a good side when everyone is fit but no team could carry this many injuries and not be affected.

Spot on Bush re the WC it will give us chance to regroup. However, knowing our luck, watch Ndiaye go and get injured out in Qatar.

If we can hang on in the top 6 with all these injuries up until the WC we will be well placed to kick on over Xmas and the new year.

Bringing him on at RWB seems bizarre to me, otherwise why bother having Gordon on the bench in the first place?

I feel like we should have rejigged at the back to go Bogle, Gordon, Egan, Basham, RND than bring Khadra on to play out of position.

Whilst he replaced our RWB he did not play in that position, he was pushed on to get beyond players and get balls into the box from wide position.

I think we favoured the left side as we were shit scared of giving it away on the other side to Chair.....so we just gave it away on the left instead.... 😂

If so I can't even describe how negative and pathetic that is, at home, already 1-0 down, with 15 mins to go

Even at 1-0 up it would barely make sense - better for the opposition's biggest threat to be making the initial clearance than being on the end of any resulting counter attack

The crosses were excellent !
It is a long time since we had someone who can cross with that much power and bend. Any decent forward should score several in a season off those crosses.
Most of our crosses are looped up for the defence or keeper to easily deal with: not his.

We should just avoid exposing him to Baldock too much in training - he'll be tapping it into the first man every time, in no time
