CONFIRMED Cameron Archer signs for the Blades - 4 year contract

No. Until his registration moves over to us, which presumably is via a fully-executed contract inc. EPL sign off, his registration remains with Villa.
That is registration to play football, the contract between club and player is different. I can't remember the guys name (it will come to me) but about 15 yrs ago we signed a player and signed all the contracts before registering him. He subsequently couldn't get a work visa and we were stuck with him on the payroll and he wasn't allowed to play

All these semantics!

In my mind it’s quite simple. All agreed at our end. Villa then sort buyback terms with Archer just as the sequence with Ramsey.

No drama.

Plays against Lincoln.
Lincoln ?

"Aston Villa boss Unai Emery has confirmed Jaden Philogene's exit from Villa Park as his move to Hull City edges closer, with the deal on the verge of being confirmed.

It's understood the finer details of Villa's time-sensitive buy-back clause between the 21-year-old and the Premier League club are being ironed out before final confirmation is given on a deal worth in the region of £5m, with the youngster penning a long-term contract."

The negotiations between player and Villa on the terms of the buyback being activated take some time
So are Villa trying to do this dodgy buy back to them on every player leaving the Club.

If I sell my house it’s sold. I can’t ask for it back at a set price if I see it going up in value.

See the rug being pulled on this if so

Buy-back clauses are nothing new.

The interesting (and potentially dodgy) element to this deal is the obligation for them to buy him back if we're relegated at a price not dissimilar to what we've paid for him.

That’s what I’m on about the religation buy back

Not every player, only the good ones. A few players have already left this window with no buyback clause. Buyback clauses are quite common for players these days. City had a buyback clause on Douglas Luiz when we bought him but they didn't activate it. It would be normal for the sale price to be lower than what the selling club value a player at when a buyback clause is included

It will not be Villa adding the buyback on the relegation clause, that will be at the request of Sheffield United. The benefit to a selling club with a buyback is that the buyback is optional. An obligation to buyback is bad for the selling club.

All the contracts likely refer to each other, so that unless all are signed, none are binding. It's called 'Incorporation by reference'.

The reference to an external document (contract) makes it part of the referencing contract.

Used most frequently outside of football to keep contract documents shorter and not have to include sometimes thousands of pages of reference material.

Only thing i'm arsed about in terms of the delay is that i hope Villa are allowing him to train with us. If they're not, then fuck them to hell

This is going to keep me awake tonight.

Was it an Italian lad? Signed from Inter I think?

You can. You could sell your house to somebody, but with a clause you had to buy it back if they got made redundant.
It would suit them as it gave them security, and suit you as you get the house back that could be worth more.
If it works for all involved, crack on.

What if you were able to affect whether or not they were made redundant??

I've no idea about what's happening and why there's been no official announcement

But it's clear to me that this is a deal and agreement different to any I've heard of.

Therefore, I'd rather all the finer points are nailed down legally before we leave ourselves open to any recourse.
Why bother getting the details right ? McCabe didn’t bother !!

Everything is agreed with archer and for villa as well everything is sorted on there end cameron archer is a Sheffield United player just waiting on the announcement now just a waiting game UTB⚔️
Though I guess we have to wait to register him as ours on Monday when the 1970s opens for work.
