I hope your wrong pal but realistically this is the type of player we could get providing bournmouth go down, he's 28 but still 3 years left on his contract. 22 to 24 Mill maybe? Worth it if we can afford it

bournmouth can't afford 100k a week mate think he's on 60k which still is mega money for bournmouth, jags is on a reportedly 50k with us fair enough he was a free but with another season guaranteed out wage bill has to rise accordingly with success, I always believe wilson isn't out of our reaches for me he's the player we should and could get providing Chris wants him hence the reason it was just a suggestion.

There will be plenty of teams like West Ham happy to throw £30m plus at Bournemouth for Wilson. In fact, he’s your typical West Ham signing.

I don't really rate that Ollie Watkins tbh. He's had a great season in a very attacking Brentford side, but I don't think he has the physical attributes required to thrive in the Prem.

Would be a brilliant signing and if we are serious about taking a step forward next season signings like Callum Wilson would be the step up we need to take.

All of those saying there is no chance how do you know? pretty sure the majority of our fans never saw us paying 20 million for McBurnie and 22 million for Sander Berge.

We will have to wait and see what happens.

I would have liked Wilson to come to BDTBL , but the reality is he will more likely move to a club that can afford his high wages and are willing (& wealthy enough) to take the chance on him staying injury-free.
Also he is caught offside far too many times, which would place our midfield & defence under persistent pressure, as he has Bournemouth's!.
I would have brought in Wilson & Brooks but for their present injury records.

Some fair views there boys, was trying to make fair recommendations for us moving forward as in a step up dues to a second season in the big time, if wilson and others around his level are unrealistic how do we move forward? Surely not keep buying championship players hoping they turn good without any prem experience and paying 25plus, surely the wage bill has to go up at some point moving forward and looking at players with proven experience instead of spending huge of championship experience.

That's the precise reason Utd have expanded their scouting network in to Europe - much better value offered for signings, especially strikers.

Thanks to the prince’s Belgian mate on the board, jan van winckle (Bielsa’s right hand man for several years) we now have an inside knowledge on the Belgian leagues. Hopefully Berg is the first of many big talents we pilfer from there! The prices over here have gone beyond ridiculous.

If we are going to improve then we have to start paying more money sooner or later

If we'd made the Champions League and there wasn't the covid lo of income than maybe we could have looked more at someone like Wilson, but at 28, on huge wages, and with questionable fitness record, would we ever have gone for him? As others have said, we missed out on Wilson years ago. We did get Leon though, and Leon was quality, he'd have been worth the transfer fee just for the two goals v Wednesday!


Also, I'd rather us sign players who are younger and with more of a point to prove than Wilson, its served us well thus far and I think one of the reasons we'v been successful is because we sign players with a point to prove.

Maybe that's because you haven't bothered to educate yourself with an awareness of where the club is or isn't financially

In fairness this time last year we were linked with Antonio Valencia and Franck Ribery! Means nowt till they sign.
