And it didn't surprise me you were waiting there like a stalker with a comment oh mighty one...
Forgive me for opening a thread concerning one of our players and commenting on another of your stupid comments

For me in Pre season and the few minutes he played first half of last season, he was dropping too deep. Especially when he was partnered with Didzy it was like playing with 2 CAM's and no strikers. Theres players who are better at this, Didzy and McBurnie we need someone on the shoulder of the last defender running in behind, im far from convinced Robinson is that player, my worry is he impresses in pre season and training like he did last year and we end up without a proper goalscorer.

We'll be going for another centre forward regardless of Robinson I'd have thought. I think Wilder would want to see Robinson impress in matches as a minimum, and even then, as others have said, he looked quality last pre-season. He didn't set the world on fire at West Brom either. He impressed by the sounds of it, but only scored 3 goals, although he's never been a regular goalscorer as such, but he's generally done well on assists. He seems a top lad and he's clearly got quality, but not so sure he's quite what we're looking for. Moose on the other hand is, but needs more consistency - hoping he comes back on fire.

This lad is deffo not a striker, he’s effective off the left wing in a 4–2-3-1 / 4-3-3 which obviously we don’t play. He just doesn’t have the movement or awareness to be effective as a prem league striker end of. Sell Robinson for £6-8m and put towards Emmanuel Dennis.

I like Robinson but I think he prefers to pick the ball up out wide and cut in for a shot or to create a through pass.

I think he played more as a winger at Preston which was where he played his best football, as we dont really play with conventional wingers he doesn't really fit in there. It's not inconceivable that he could play as a striker and peel off out wide to stretch the defence and create space but we are already pretty overloaded on the wings as it is so I'm not even sure how that would work playing for us. Our biggest problem isn't working the ball on the wing, it's having people in the box to finish the chances, if Robbo is pulling out wide it's not really benefiting us in that respect.

That's not to say it couldn't work as both goals against Chelsea A came from a similar situation but I fear we would be placing too much emphasis on trying to shoehorn a player in rather than cutting our losses and buying a better fit for our system.

On the positive side. He seems like a good bloke to have around the squad. He has some skill and some pace.
On the negative side as Bertie says is that he can't or doesn't want to tackle. And then where do we play him?. He isn't an out and out striker. Not sure we can turn him into what we need.
If he is in the squad for the season I won't mind. If he goes and we replace him. I won't mind either.

I read an article on a fantasy football site about us and possible second season syndrome (had the usual stuff about "being found out" but interesting comments about Wolves). It looked at the teams that had done well in their first season and what happened next. Reading and Birmingham were the teams relegated but Wolves this season finished in the same position as they were able to change between 352 and 343 to mix it up, be more attacking and keep their opponents from easily guessing tactics. I have a feeling Wilder may be looking at Wolves for inspiration and Robinson could be ideal in that left forward spot if we go with 343 in some games next season

Completely off topic where in Colombia do you live? I spent time working in Norte De Santander area a bit ago...didn’t realise it was a good area for expat Blades 😂

Not sure Norte de Santander would be a good area for expat Blades!! I live in the capital Bogota, been here for nearly 6 years now (I did meet a Colombian who was a big Blade, he even went to the playoff final against Burnley! - think he was studying in Hallam at the time)

OK spill the beans. Who's the next Freddie Rincon?

Moved for work?

That’s an odd one to have a blade fan, I tried spreading the blades message across Pamplona/Cucuta but don’t think it gained much traction haha

No idea to be honest don't watch a lot of the local football. About 3 years ago I used to go and watch one of the local teams fairly often (they play in red and white and their arch rivals play in blue and white so a natural choice!) but lost interest a bit (tho still call myself a fan if anyone asks!)

I reckon these days I might have a bit more luck spreading the Blades message! Especially when loads of people over here have a premier league team like Arsenal or Chelsea getting beat by us!

May be reading too much into this but it looks like Robinson has lost the #11 shirt. He's wearing #27 (Clarke's old number) on his gear in Scotland.

I thought he did OK against poor opposition, squandered a few good chances, albeit on a tricky surface.

I like Callum Robinson. Always happy and upbeat, seems popular in the dressing room, and I think he’s a talented footballer.

BUT. I am DESPERATE for us to sell him. He’s had two great pre-seasons and one cracking half in a Sheffield United shirt, but the rest of his game time he was insanely nesh, had all the pace of Phil Jagielka’s granny, and he missed good chances whilst passing it straight to the opposition and being tactically naive (West Ham away he gave the worst performance of any Blade last season IMO).

I’ll back him if he stays and I hope I’m wrong, but I reckon he’d be better off at West Brom and us with a couple of mil and this season’s reclamation project in Oli Burke (who may also turn out to be shit... you never know).

Thought he did some good things. But should remember he's obviously too good for that opposition. I don't think he got onboard tactically last season, and unfortunately that's unlikely to have changed in another short pre-season.

Talented player though, not impossible we'll keep him, rather than take a punt on another top Championship striker.

I'm not convinced. He looked good today and last pre-season but players are standing off him and not giving him a kick. He looked disinterested when up against big centre halves who leave something on him. If we played wingers or wide forwards then he'd be worth keeping but too easily bullied, not prepared to tackle and press and needs too much time/space.

He seems like a really nice lad, it just doesn't seem like the right fit.
