I don't think I've made a single comment that could be even slightly construed as me being in any way ITK about our budget.....and I used the words "apparent budget" which would, to a person with a modicum of intellect suggest I haven't got a scooby!!

Definite strengthening in all positions, and with the players we know we’re interested in Osborn, McBurnie, Maupay, we would be continuing that trend.

It’s seem the rumours of our likely relegation due to a poor job on recruitment are being seriously exaggerated. It seems to be right on track.

I would like to point out and remind those suggesting we NEED to spend a specific amount to have a good chance of survival that we’ve been told that before, and it’s complete bollocks.

It’s actually the players you sign and how we use them, not what they cost.
Our best signing this summer could well end up being free again...as it was last season!

If we lose out on Maupay...we miss out. Yes he’s a good player and may well have been our first choice. But we couldn’t get it done so we move on and look at others.

Up front, we need at least one proper striker who will lead the line and get the goals. We love Sharp and he will do a job next year, but not over a full season of 38 games. McBurnie, or Maupay, for different reasons, would be dangerous at that level. I really hope we manage to pull one of them off.

If that's our budget to work with then fair enough..was and still am hoping for a goalscorer and a decent tall centre forward ..I.e Maupay and Mcburnie .....but seems unlikely now !

I think signing Robinson points towards us going for McBurnie. There's no way that Wilder wouldn't want options, and Maupay is similar in terms of being a tricky/poacher style player to Sharp. And we're not going to be after both now as we're going to be top loaded for the top three positions assuming Morrison is signing too.

Was also hoping we’d save that last loan for Reece James, can provide cover for a number of positions and probably an upgrade on Bash truth be told. Possibly waiting to see how he recovers from his ankle break?

Their local rag pretty much confirms it’ll be in the region of £8m. Part of that cash will also go to Villa through a sell-on clause...

In terms of when this came about too, suggestion that our interested has only really ramped up over the last 2 weeks, and that it’s our 2nd bid that was accepted.

£7 Million is also being contested on their fan board as being high. The Preston ITKs (for what it's worth) seem to think it's much lower than, closer to £5-6M, and given his contract situation I think they could be closer to the ball, rather than what the club are putting out, which is likely to be the total cost including clauses to placate the fans.

Have you seen a lot of Callum Robinson? I don’t think you’ll be disappointed when you see him. As others have said, he’d have been a 20+ man last year but for his injury. He’s got good feet, trickery, direct and at only 24 he’s a very good age. I’m happy with this signing. If it’s £6m then it’s a no brainer.

It's a different world to when we were here before, we need to "smash" our record fees just to compete, and to be fair, £6m today is still low for a prem player, it's really a mid champ fee if we're honest!
Let's just hope CWAK, can get us value for money, and a top 15 finish, with the budget he's been given.

Different leagues, yes, but same scenario..... we brought in relatively unfashionable (some would say underwhelming) players to do a job. Wilder so far has proved that he has an eye for a promising player.

It was always going to happen once we got promoted. Some were talking about Welbeck and Sturridge and other players they had heard of. We have so far done exactly what most thought would be the best strategy in buying some of the best Championship talents. We are far from finished too.
