Admittedly have only seen him play 7 or 8 times, but feel like £8m is a lot for him.

Robinson makes sense.

Remember he’s already a team mate of Enda, Egan and a strike partner with McGoldrick in the Irish squad.
They will have all given Wilder positive info regards his attitude and personality. This will be home from home for Robinson.
So here’s to you Callum Robinson
Didsy loves you more than you could know

Pleased with Robinson to be fair, he's young, he's athletic, was a standout player for an average PNE team last season, scored 13 goals despite being injured for three months and he can play in more than one position - not that we play with wingers!

Much rather Robinson than Assombalonga who was mentioned earlier in the pre-season.

The way we're going with all the Irish lads, we'll be replacing Celtic as their favourite club side!

If we are to sign Robinson, it would remind me of when we signed Holmes, Leonard & Evans.

Duffy, Freeman, Robinson & potentially Morrison all vying for a single position would be outrageous. The beginning of the end for the Bouncekiller?

Well unless we’ve moved our training camp to Ireland it doesn’t look like he’s coming to us.

Cadette has confirmed that the Maupay deal has hit the rocks. Probably unlikely now. Bournemouth in for him.
Fella, you seem be an every silver lining has a cloud kind of guy.
Earlier today you were suggesting Norwich were the club who had bid.

Must be alternative to McBurnie then if it's true. How the fuck has Wilder agreed a deal of £6m for him!

Not too long ago you were suggesting Norwich were the club who had bid.

I thought I’d read somewhere that Norwich had had a bid turned down for him, so posted “I believe it will be Norwich” or something akin to that. I’m actually very happy with Robinson, if the signing is paired with someone like McBurnie.

Maupay never struck me as a Sheffield United type signing for a number of reasons and it seems as if my suspicions were correct.

Fair point though.

Not a chance, enough versatility in all the new lads to cover all of the midfield areas IMO.

I think Morrison will be played deeper so competing with Fleck.
Exactly my point. Wilder said when covering the play off final (quoting from memory) that he hates the term “defensive midfielder/ attacking midfielder” he said you want the complete package.

I have faith our midfielders could interchange and even play the Mcgoldrick role.

Further update. The journalist who covers PNE has confirmed the fee is around £8M. Not the £6M being widely reported.

Sorry mate there’s no way it’s as much as £8m. Wilder and his recruitment team will be having your pants down. Our negotiators are different gravy, and your kegs will be wrapped round your ankles! :D

I hope it's not an alternative for MAupay or McBurnie but surely it has to be for one of them. Out of the three players, from what I've seen Robinson is more like Maupay.

Is he really a striker? Seems more a winger/ attacking midfielder to me.

Yeah more of that, I think he has played “up front” but striker is a stretch, very different player to Maupay / McBurnie / Sharp. If you look at heatmaps on Whoscored (or if you saw him against us last season) he’s most involved around the edge of the area / out wide.

Similarities to McGoldrick in the way he drifts about / links up play. Won’t lie, I think he’s class and hope this comes off, especially for 8m or so!

Robinson will surely compete with Mcgoldrick for one spot whilst any new signing (maupay/ mcburnie/ Austin/ other) would compete with Billy.

When I've seen Robinson play he seems to be a roaming forward who drops off and pulls wide like Mcgoldrick/ Brooks. Can't see playing in the Duffy role.
