Callum O'Hare

That's the problem. If O'Hare is your player of the season you're in trouble

I absolutely agree, he's been far from great this season. It just speaks volumes about how poor we've been that a player that works hard, but lacks the athleticism and the final product to be particularly effective is probably the best we've had.

I just don't see how he's the one being singled out for criticism, although he was poor v Hull.

Well I can

We've scored 3 goals all season he's meant to be the link player from the midfield to the attack

I actually thought that for 10 mins before Hull scored he got on the ball a bit but then he became completely ineffective again.

He runs a lot but there’s hardly any end product.

I’d like him to be more direct… selfish even! He gets into decent positions, but instead of driving into the box or taking a shot, he plays an overly safe pass and all momentum has gone as the defenders regroup!
I would bench him for 2 strikers and move Gus (who’s on thin ice as well) more central. Bring COH on with 20 to go and total freedom to ‘express’ himself!
Aye, he could have a lot more to his game if you ask me, he's got the potential. You can see he's technically very good on the ball - good footwork and a good engine to go with it. If he could add some more goal involvements to his game he'd be a top player.

You're right about his technical skills especially his footwork but he just lacks that pace over 2 or 3 yards which is often the difference between good and great players

He lacks pace, is shit scared of shooting., first thought is always to turn back (like most of team), is so lightweight that will win 1 out of 10 50/50 challenge.

Due to rest of midfield being from the Shire as well, it makes him totally ineffective. He is a luxury player you bring on when a couple of goals up to try and string together a wonder goal!

o'hare and peck need pulling out of the team for a couple of games neither playing well enough ive a feeling we may see more interest from campbell if ings is played up top with him

I assume O'Hare and Peck are in the side because even when struggling for form the coaches think they're better than the alternatives.

I like COH but him, Peck & Hamer isn't working and at least 1 of those 3 needs benching.

Go 2 up top, if he can stay fit Ings should be the first name on the team-sheet with Campbell alongside him. Dare I say even Cannon who looks better in a 2 but completely lost on his own. Put Hamer in the middle alongside Peck or Matos and play wingers!

A good old fashioned 4-4-2 for me going forward;

Cooper

Seriki
Tanganga
Mee
McCallum

Ogbene
Hamer
Peck/Matos
Barry

Ings
Campbell

For such an important position, his influence is pretty poor. Think how influential Duffy was playing in that role, and O'Hare is miles off. It's also frustrating the amount of times we lose possession when he tries to flick it on rather than just putting his foot on it and finding a team mate

To be fair, (although I agree Duffy is/was a better player than COH) we played a completely different system when he was at the peak of his powers. We had marauding over-lapping centre backs in JOC and Bash who created so much confusion for opposing defenders that Duffy/Fleck/Norwood could pull the strings. We didn't go sideways and backwards all the time, we went forward, with purpose.

I have no doubt whatsoever that COH was signed to do the Duffy role but we don't play a system that compliments him. Plus we are still trying to put square pegs into round holes.

Wilder needs to draw a line in the sand on this International break, stop picking his favourites and get back to basics.
