Getting to the point where he's as useless as Cannon

He played OK in the first game.

He scored at Oxford. I expect that.

He's scored what, 3 goals since he's been here? Maybe 4 assists?

His output is beyond shit. Every time he gets the ball I know nothing is going to happen. He's part of a midfield that simply does not create chances.

He desperately needs dropping in favour of a striker and it needs happening yesterday.

very harsh but think your spot on hes too much of a luxury player and most of the time his flicks just dont come off both him and peck need benching imo

I’d like him to be more direct… selfish even! He gets into decent positions, but instead of driving into the box or taking a shot, he plays an overly safe pass and all momentum has gone as the defenders regroup!
I would bench him for 2 strikers and move Gus (who’s on thin ice as well) more central. Bring COH on with 20 to go and total freedom to ‘express’ himself!

I think he is great. His head never seems to drop, his work rate is 100%.

Yes he is small and lightweight, that let's him run and run and run, we can't expect him to do that and be strong and physical.

It doesn't always work, i do think he might also need to be more selfish and stop forcing a pass when he can shoot.

I didn't watch the game yesterday but I think he does what he is good at consistently

I think it's harsh on Callum, but for the sake of the team formation wise, he has to give way. We need to get more men in the box and we have to go 2 up top or at least give it a go!

4-1-3-2

Cooper

Seriki Tanganga Mee McCallum

Matos/Peck

Ogbene Davis Hamer

Ings Campbell

One of the few players with a footballing brain it’s just a pity not many of the others have.
Always works hard for the team, if some of the others worked as hard as him we wouldn't be in the mess were in.

He was regularly the single player moving while the rest stood still and watched the player with the ball yesterday.

But at the same time he was in the group we could have done with sacrificing one of a lot earlier in order to change shape a bit an try and actually do something in the final third.

So to summarise then, he’s an enigma.
Busy doing nothing.
Surely we can make him busy doing something. If he’s the only one looking bright and alert, it’s worrying about the rest of them.

The thing I’ve noticed about his game is he’s not quite got the connection with Gus that he had before. I don’t know why that is.

One of, arguably the best player of the season for me. Not that he's been great, but struggling to think of a single player who's been better?
He isn't the problem. The deeper midfielders not being able to find a pass and a distinct lack of movement is a much bigger issue.

O'Hare does have a goal and assist to his name, is second to Hamer in chance creation.

O'Hare is only one part of the problem. The main thing for me is that the midfield don't function as a unit.

O'Hare looks busy pressing from the front, but with nobody else doing it the defender being pressed has easy outlets. It's wasted energy unless the press is done as a midfield unit. Looks busy while being of no benefit to the team.

Peck just isn't progressive. Always looking for the safe ball sideways or backwards. It makes for great passing and possession retention stats on an individual basis but hinders the team as a whole as it gives the opposition time to reset.

Hamer is both genius and frustration in one, but there's much less of the genius this season. He's capable of sticking a worldie in the top corner but also giving up possession by screwing up a 10 yard pass or executing a fancy flick that a teammate isn't expecting. Also, petulant and will take a pointless yellow which leaves him having to be cautious. Is capable of creating for himself, but rarely adventurous with his passing.

The strikers we have are not the types to hold the ball up and even if they did, they're on their own. They're wanting through balls to run on to. I wouldn't fancy any of the main midfield trio to be playing a line-breaking pass for Campbell or Cannon to run on to.

We currently have a trio of midfielders all doing their own thing and not playing any one style as a cohesive or progressive unit.

That's the problem. If O'Hare is your player of the season you're in trouble

He should be Hamers back up. Come on to run at tired defenders. Need to get 2 up top with Hamer in behind. Problem is we have a lack of options up front.
Hamer central won’t happen. Wilders said his best position is out wide where he “makes things happen”

Didn't see yesterday's game but O'Hare was impressive against Southampton and never stopped moving and pressing.
And comparison to the Ghost is laughable.

Remember last season people on here slagging JRS OFF a player who scored goals and created goals. Now we have fans supporting players who cannot do that yes his work rate is excellent but if football is all about running around like a headless chicken I seriously worry about some of our fans.
We have two many players who are in capable of playing in a team formation.

I like him, but he's ineffective currently and we absolutely need to go with 2 up top. That means we either drop he or Hamer. Sorry Cal, you'll get another chance of course when one of our 3 strikers gets injured. It won't take long

I suppose now that Robinson has gone we're bereft of scapegoats, but on the other hand, this season we have a full team of candidates

Hard work is admirable in any profession but end result is so much more valuable.

Ohare gives the impression of working hard but there is rarely any end product, in fact he loses possession so regularly that he's a liability when in possession in his own half

For me he's no more than a replacement when the games slowed a little.

The team needs to be built around Mee, Davies and Ings!
True until they get the inevitable injuries

Ings has to start ASAP

He's one of two players who looks like he knows what he's doing on a football pitch, along with Davies
Yes, the drilled through ball from Hamer, he controlled very well and skilfully drew the penalty.

Can't think of any other player in our team that has that ability to kill a fast moving ball and keep it under control.

He has to start matches.
