It wasn't that long ago that we had Seriki at RB, then we signed Gilchrist on loan to play RB, and then used another loan spot on Harry Clarke to play RB. There is absolutely no logic behind Wilder's transfers.

Gilchrist didn't live up to his potential (is now on loan in league 1), Clarke came in, got injured and so didn't get match fit, Choudhury can play right back and did it well.

Wilder has clearly had the rug pulled from under him. Maybe the owners don’t trust him, they sacked him once most obviously.

We can question how much he knew/knows along the way ( including the new contract) but we’ve flipped from ‘rebuilding the squad’ to ‘frees and loans’.

Fans as usual get the brunt of it.

I’m honestly speechless at what’s happening to the club. It sounds dramatic, but it genuinely feels like we’re on life support more than ever. Wrexham are poaching our players, the owners look like they’re stripping assets without giving a fuck, and Seriki and Cooper are probably the last genuinely valuable ones left.

I’ve been very critical of Wilder because I don’t like him or his style of football, but this is one of those moments where him and the players probably need more support. The situation above them is playing out even worse than I expected.

A season ago I’d have happily taken this money for COH if I thought it was being reinvested. But we all know where this is heading - especially with no time for a replacement. If even a small percentage of it isn’t put back into creativity and quality of the squad, then we are fucked. The team is so overwhelmingly defensive minded we can't afford to loose him.

It was clear we needed to recoup around £25M.
Everyone was hoping that would be from the sales of players we were that bothered about keeping (Cannon, Campbell, Zatterstrom, McGuinness, Davies, Gbric. maybe Burrows etc etc). These squad players were more easily replaceable.
Some of the wage bill has gone which might have helped a little.
But there hasn't been little solid interest until now and that is only Cannon.
The problem is we have had to sell almost all of our attacking threat to cover that £25M.
But if we sell Cannon on top of COH then that should give an excess of around £6M?? (over the £25M defecit)
If that £6M is invested in a couple of creative players we might be OK.
It is a huge IF though as it stands now!
