Callum O’Hare

Thoughts on Callum?
For me he has been very poor in recent games. Runs around without a lot finished product.
However, he has created both winning goals in last 2 games. So I'm in a dilemma. Perhaps he's finally getting there?
Thoughts?
Has he? Pretty sure Blaster passed it into Burrows v Brizzle

He did really well to sort his feat out for the goal and a clever pass. The thing ab out O'Hare is that he's clearly quality. As is Hamer. He's been poor this season so far, but he has been involved in a number of goals. At this level, players like him make the difference. We have match-winners in Hamer, O'Hare and Rak-Saki. If we can keep the defence tight and be consistent then we jave a chance.

That assist today was top quality.
Seen it a few times and he knows exactly where campbell is and gives them the eyes, shifts his body to the right so they can't read the pass and puts it on the toe in a no look pass. This means Campbell gets an inch he wouldn't have got with another player passing it to him and he scores.
That assist was just as important as the finish, top top drawer. Don't mind him going missing every now and then if that's what he produces when it matters.

The difference between a player and a quality player is sometimes very slight, I think just in that pass to Campbell showed that ohare is a quality player, the touch the awareness and the weight of the pass, that wasn't luck. Ohare as a player is frustrating because we all know he's a good player if he wasn't we wouldn't be frustrated

Can’t deny that he hasn’t made the impact we wanted or expected overall this year, despite playing in what I assume is his favoured position. But never gives less than 100% and is clearly one of the ‘press leaders’ along with Moore.

I thought he was good today and, as said above, the set up for Campbell was class - tiny movement and gives the defender the eyes before rolling him in. Hopefully there’s more to come.

It was great skill from Hamer but O'Hare with the final touch to Campbell and it was a brilliant ghost which left the defender for dead and gave Campbell the opportunity to score
Was referring to the winner v Bristol.

It was a great touch by him to play cambell in but that aside, he was completely anonymous today.
I have said it before that I was delighted when we signed him and still have high hopes but I feel it’s time for a stint warming the bench for him now.

3 assists and counting so far this season, more than any other player. Not exactly been a Championship Jack Grealish but has been good in a new side and stayed injury free. Hope he grows into his season more as potential to be a truly great player for us

Remember it took Thierry Henry about 6 months to really get going.

Given the size of our squad, he’s the sort of player we just persevere with and then in the new year he’ll be going great guns.

Nice assist today and never stopped running.

just think wilder is playing both o'hare and hamer in the wrong positions hamer changed the game today when he played more central 2nd half we need moore and campbell up top and hamer central behind em and if o'hare plays out on the left drifting in

First of all well done so far this season 👏

O'Hare is a quality Championship player when he can be bothered. Two of his best games for us last season were against Wolves in the QF and Man Utd in the SF of the FA cup. But he needs to feel loved. Certainly a confidence player.

And back to the previous comments I made on here for him. The tried and tested for O'Hare is AM towards the right and Hamer CM. They have a great understanding with each other. O'Hare is too lightweight to have a battle in midfield but give him a ball to chase and he suddenly turns into a whippet.

Don't write him off. There's a very good player hidden in there. The hard part is finding a system that works for him.

Runs his bollocks off and has the most assists this season.
He's asked to play off a loan striker at times which is incredibly tough.
Wilder said post match he needs to work with Gus more, but he's got a lot of ability, and Chris will 100% get the best out of him soon.

He does phenomenal amount of work off the ball pressing opposition high up and also coming back to break up attacks. He robbed the Bristol guy of the ball which lead to sending off which clearly unsettled them and indirectly lead to winning goal.

He’s a clever player with a low centre of gravity. Tries too much at times, but has ability and works his bollocks off. Constantly puts defenders under pressure and he’s as good a pickpocket as I can remember for us
If a low centre of gravity is the key to success we clealy need a Chihuahua.

just think o'hare is being played in the wrong position hes much better getting the ball deeper and running at defenders somehow wilder has to get him and hamer closer together in behind 2 genuine strikers moore and campbell

I think it’s a case where “unseen work” is actually applicable. Wilder can’t be too disappointed with him given he starts every week. Clearly doing as he’s been asked. He’ll be an important player for us as the season goes on.
