Mentioned him on a thread yesterday as one we should get in on loan. If hes looking for a more permanent move then a loan with an obligation to buy is the route to go down. This is a critical position that requires filling asap.

Wouldn't have thought wages would be an issue, city unlike Chelsea etc don't pay stupid salaries on the youngsters.City turned down £6.5m earlier in the window.
Reportedly looking for £10m and want a permanent sale.

In a dream scenario we get this lad and Hughes
Would a wet dream cover bedwetting ??I think "dream" is probably about right for that scenario.
If the wet dream is about the club deliberately taking decisions for the sole purpose of upsetting fans, it is covered. Similarly if it is about lots of men holding up shoes in a car park, apparently that’s a particularly erotic one.Would a wet dream cover bedwetting ??

And on that note, makes sense to get Mee, Swedish lad (both lefties) and splash the cash on Hughes (rightie) from embargoed Hull.A more realistic pair of signings to replace Anel would be one of Hughes/Doyle or a player of similar profile and then a player like the Swedish lad.
That way you’ve got a player for now who you’re also hoping to dramatically increase in value in the next year or two and one with maybe more of a longer 4/5 year view in mind. Add that into hopefully continuing to develop Sasnaukas and Baptiste over that time period as well and hopefully you start to have something of a conveyor belt of talent at the position

Mee would depend on wages you’d imagine if he’s wanting big wages you’re committing a decent chunk of the wage budget to a depreciating asset. It’s the sort of move a club with large amounts of ownership backing makes for the experience and to try and achieve a specific goal be that staying in a division or going for promotion it’s not the type of move a club that trades to survive makes as you’re allocating resources to an asset in which you know you won’t see a return and if it’s a multi year deal even worse you’re tying yourself into that asset. And on that note, makes sense to get Mee, Swedish lad (both lefties) and splash the cash on Hughes (rightie) from embargoed Hull.
Job done. All bases covered. Announce promotion.

These are new owners so we’re still unsure what type of philosophy they’re applying but we’ve no evidence so far it’s a fuck it well back roll it type of approach.
Tyler Bindon?
If Selles is on the money in his assessment of Bindon, it wouldn't surprise me if he is the first-choice CB.
Add in someone like Zetterstrom (spelling?) or Doyle, we then have a strong pair with experienced (though error-prone) backups in JLT and RND, and developing players in Sasnauskas (who, don't forget, got plenty of time in pre-season) and Baptiste.
Here's what Selles had to say about Bindon:
Edited to make it make sense but be much less entertainingFuck it well? Sounds bang on.
I did get carried away there and not factor in Bindon. Do we know which side he prefers to play? We're not going to have 5 senior CBs (inc JLT) presumably. And on that note, makes sense to get Mee, Swedish lad (both lefties) and splash the cash on Hughes (rightie) from embargoed Hull.

Yep such a shame we couldn't buy Bindon or include an option to buy.Bindon is definitely a starter for Selles this year And the most likely scenario is that we’re looking for a cheaper continental asset we think we can develop to play alongside him like the Swedish lad. Problem is there’s a lot of risk in that scenario in terms of what we do with injuries/suspension and you’d be taking a big gamble that very promising prospect but that isn’t fully established yet in a league which is a mixed bag in terms of quality is capable of immediately stepping up and establishing themselves as a first team player in the Championship.
It would be better but much more expensive from the point of view of competing this year to spend big by our standards on a player who’s already established at this level but that you’re confident can develop further and therefore be an appreciating asset for the club alongside signing the cheaper developmental continental player. That way you give that player time to bed in and develop further behind Bindon either with a view to replacing him next year when Bindon’s loan ends if we stay down or being part of the rotation and further developing in the prem if we went up and the club was in a position to sign an established starter to replace Bindon
Yeah I agree. It's a Hughes or Doyle thing this season, certainly this summer. Bindon starts so there is one role next to him.A more realistic pair of signings to replace Anel would be one of Hughes/Doyle or a player of similar profile and then a player like the Swedish lad.

Yeah that’s how I’d look to build the group for most positions if the view was to be sustainable but also competitive at the same time the aim should be to have a top end Championship asset for now, a player you think will become that if given another year or two to develop, an experienced head and a couple of young prospects you hope can turn into something in the next 4/5 years. You then use loans to sign a level of quality you couldn’t otherwise acquire to get you over the top.Yeah I agree. It's a Hughes or Doyle thing this season, certainly this summer. Bindon starts so there is one role next to him.
Now, you absolutely could have Doyle (for the sake of argument), Bindon and Zatterstrom all of whom will play 25 plus games over the season. I would suspect due to their age all three would need taking out for a few games before being reintroduced be that for rest or due to having a few tough games. Of course what that approach would build is a very young, but Championship experienced pairing for next season. For all the stick he gets, having Robinson in and around these kids would be hugely beneficially and he's already proven that he's not one to rock the boat if he's not getting game time.
I agree but he may be getting more minutes this week end if JLT is still unfit and lacks match practice.I really hope Dovy gets some real minutes this season, highly rated and needs progression. I know it looks silly now but Lopata looked good in the few appearances he made then was never seen again
Obviously we have only 3 CBsNo way Bindon is here to sit on the bench
Bindon & Doyle both lack pace, don’t think they’d make the best partnership. Not a fan of the Godfrey link either due to his lack of game time past couple of seasons, but he’s someone who would work better alongside Bindon as he’s very athletic.
An asset greatly underappreciated by our supporters. Having slow coach JLT alongside him meant he was our last line of defence against pace. That is the main thing we might have taken for granted with Anel.
He was really quick for a big lad and made a lot of recovery tackles.
If we're going with a high-line (I've no idea if that's the case), then it will need to be considered.
