They’ve had three golden opportunity’s where anyone with a decent left foot would have scored, the one Bindon scooped away after the player miss kicked it with his stander, Beesley missed another gift for the want of a left foot and the other one bounced up perfectly for one of their players to smash in, just outside the 6 yard box with his left foot and he didn’t even try.

I think there’s still work to be done with the defensive side of this high pressing game plan tbh.
What about O'Hares glancing header? We ignoring that so it fits the negative narrative?

Second half better good goal from One. Ukaki looked lively. Moore looked like hed got lead in his boots then scores the winner at the death. Hampson showed some promise. A good workout 75 mins under belts but so much to do in terms of centre midfield and players making the right decisions when in possession of the ball and going for goal. Guilty of trying to walk through the oppo at times. Its a win and third of pre season

Good test, but still plenty of work to do. Would like to see our strongest starting 11 at Chesterfield. Barry coming in will be very exciting on the left.

The first 45 was our biggest test yet. We lacked the energy of the last two games. Our pressing was poor and disorganised. They looked more lively and determined. Both sides had chances but they were more direct and looked more dangerous. We lost out on the physical battles. Brooks and Seriki looked lively. Bindon made some good blocks. They exposed the Robbo/Burrows side. Putting balls over the top.

It was such a shame they took off almost all their player as it essentially ended an entertaining game

We suddenly dominated play against a team not much above non-league quality. We huffed and puffed, created a few chances, Amissah made a couple of good saves. Just about got a win in the end. Of the subs, only Ukaki impressed really.

The first half was a really good test and shows we need more bodies in CM if we're playing this system. Defence got their first decent workout.

Apparently, Selles changed his approach with Reading fairly early on, because he didn’t have the quality to execute and the L1 hoof was breaking the press and causing problems. Interesting to see what he does when we face the ‘hoof it like you hate it’ sides next year.
