Burton Friendly

Very poor 1st half defence all over the place especially down the left Robbo/Burrows should have been 4-0 at HT. Better teams than Burton will murder us if we play like that. Desperate for a Robbo replacement, desperate for a Souza replacement. Better 2nd half despite Cannon and Moore being on the pitch, Moore in particular looked awful dithering on the ball and slow to react surely age has caught up with him at this level he is looking a real donkey, lucky to get the winner he knew nothing about it.
On that showing I'm getting worried that mid table is the best we can hope for. Desperately need a couple of signings to go into the 1st team just to build a solid spine, no real leaders in the squad at the moment, it could be a long long season if glaring issues are not addressed.
I’m underwhelmed by the Seles appointment too but I wouldn’t worry yet, still early days. Still time for performances to come together.

so you never saw the constant berating from several fans who claimed crap like we only looked decent in 4 wins out of 28 wins
winning by the odd goal was as bad as drawing remarks
ill give Selles 5 TO 10 GAMES TO LOOK CAPABLE BEFORE THE WHIGERS START ON HIM
Im behind him as hes our manager now
We DID only look decent in about half a dozen wins last year. Our modus operandi was edge in front and hold on for dear life. We only scored 8 goals in the last 15 minutes last year, the 18th worst in the league. Wilder is still the best manager I’ve ever seen for us. But unfortunately, that version of him is long gone. I hope he rekindles that magic elsewhere.

Don’t think I learned much at all from last night. We need more bite in CM and another centre half but that’s hardly news. Burton were going full tilt first half so it will have been a good workout.

I expect a few more in by the end of the window and the starting XI to look different.

Surely we are all too old now not to know you don’t read anything into preseason. Remember a few years ago Callum Robinson looking unplayable away at Barnsley.

Tidy little ground the Pirelli. £4.90 a pint as well, struggle to get a pint in a pub for that price these days.

So 6 good wins and 22 dead jammy ones ?
Really .........you believe that ?
How long you been watching football

In 1990 we got promoted under Bassett we were bleeding awful in some games and got most wins by injury time Brian Deane goals

In fact I can't remember any promotion where we did win by putting sides to the sword where at least half or morre were 1-0 or 2-1

Going up under Warnock half our wins were attrition.. hard fought wins

Maybe just didn't see enough from the last game to pick a number 2. Neither barely had a thing to do.
Fair enough.
But if anyone did not see at Rotherham that Davies is about as good with the ball at his feet as Douglas Bader then they need a white stick.
WTF happened to this getting the ball forward?
It's getting as bad as the imbecile Wilder after the first game.
He actually kicks it quite well when he does go long.

Was going to go through this thread to see how many spotted the obvious flaws with the owners (still but judgement day is end of window) and their imbecilic managerail appointments. Two in one season period in charge.
But FFS I'm getting as despondent and deflated as I was last night after watching us outplayed at Burton just on the first page.

It isn't Selles that is worrying me it is the lack of signings who can challenge to start games, too many "prospects" here at the moment. You have to wonder if the owners actually have any money to put into the 1st team?

.
Not as pissed of as me! With that pass at Wembley...and no I can't forgive him absolute dog shit!

Yes, because no player should ever make a mistake, they should all be 100% perfect, just like we fans are.

We are entitled to this level of pure perfection, because we support Sheffield United, who have a long standing record of never letting their fans down.

Never!

That’s very fair tbh
