Burnley failing to control their players and fans.

Thanks for your efforts here. My experience is that organisations often put up a series of hoops to jump through like this in the hope that you’ll lose interest. Please forward your complaints as requested and keep pushing - and keep us posted 👍

Speak of the devil and 'they' will appear. Had a pithy reply from the EFL, as follows...

Thank you for your e-mail, we appreciate you getting in touch.

Generally speaking, matters relating to in-stadia safety, security and crowd disorder are primarily the responsibility of the home Club. This could be at the time by way of a stewarding response, or post-match should any matter be brought to the home Club’s attention or be reviewed as part of an investigation. Ultimately, any matter related to disorder could also fall under the jurisdiction of the local Police and/or The Football Association (FA), with the FA governance department tasked with investigating potential crowd matters and sanctioning Clubs as they see appropriate.

Clubs being investigated/charged for pitch invasions is at the discretion of the FA, and we can confirm that both incidents you refer to below are subject to an ongoing FA investigation. If you wish to take up this matter with the FA, you can contact them via their site HERE.

Thank you for contacting the EFL.

Not sure if the last paragraph refers to both incidents at Burnley or Burnley and Hillsborough? Anyway, I shall in due course be forwarding my comments to the FA also. Would be incongruous to stop here.

Ainsley Harriott would be proud of your work. 👍

Love your efforts but the game is bent as a ten bob note, nowt will happen here, nothing major anyway!

At least the Coppers stood outside the away end after the game, doing absolutely fuck all managed to avoid doing any work. That's the main thing

Pandora’s box was well and truely opened by someone. Tim Burnese Lee has a lot to answer for

Though AI could take it to another level.

Some AI experts and industry leaders express concern that advanced AI could pose an existential risk to humanity, potentially leading to extinction or a catastrophic collapse of civilization. These concerns stem from the possibility of AI surpassing human intelligence and becoming uncontrollable, or from AI-driven societal disruptions.

You completely missed the point of my post. I wasn’t claiming to be making a factual assessment of the incident, I said that players should not get into fights with supporters who are giving them stick. As others have said, look at our club and ask yourself why this keeps happening. We have a confrontational, chippy manager who publicly takes the piss out of fellow managers and is happy to be seen pissed on social media, confronts opposition players on the pitch, rants publicly about referees not showing him respect and delights, seemingly in bringing it on at every opportunity. Sorry but don’t be surprised if that winds other clubs and their supporters up. I’m not defending the goons who were on the pitch but they represent an extreme of what is quite understandably, a general dislike of us. That has been cultivated by one person and he’s an embarrassment. For you to suggest that me presenting that hypothesis is lazy or ignorant rather misses the point

So to summarise , it was Chris Wilders fault, not the players....

Definitely nothing to do with out of control Burnley knob heads though.

In the same way it was the Forest managers fault that one of 'his' fans head butted Billy Sharp.

Really......

I think Skynet has already been predicted……

Again, please read my post. I’m not absolving Burnley, their stewards or loutish fans at all. I’m just trying to make the point that we have a manager who seems to revel in winding people up and that has consequences in that it sparks off a certain demographic amongst football fans. We have them as every club does. If an opposition manager stirred things up before or after a big game including getting in our players faces on the pitch (it doesn’t matter what he said) things would kick off.

Burnley's fault for not appropriately controlling the situation.

Either they assumed they incorrectly thought their fans would listen and follow the announcements, in which case naïve.

Or alternatively, they didn't care and in which case knowingly endangered our players and staff.

This thread has made me groan. I am not interested in what other fans think of our club. Its ours. There are other managers and players I admire but I don't really care if I like them or not either.

Wilder is our Manager and this squad is our squad. I will support them and back them to do their job the best they can. None of them have (yet) done anything that I would consider to be too much.

I hope I am able to be at BDTDL on 12th May. I hope I am able to witness our fans being loud, aggressive, proud, celebrating wildly. It would also make me feel very proud if we are better and stay off the pitch. (should we win...)

Hate pitch invasions, always have done.

Its twats behaviour to do it, I’d say the same if it was United fans doing it too.

Dickheads wanting to get some attention and make it all about them.

It’s not about you, dickheads, it’s about the team - get back in the fucking stands and enjoy celebrating with the players.

Not fucking hard is it.

Anything happened about the firework at the sty?
We’ll probably for fined for it!

Charming though isn’t it?

Pigs get nothing for a firework on the pitch at the players. We send a flair into the crowd and get two blocks closed for it for the entire season.

We get up to 125k fines, Burnley have a dust up at full time and a lad kicking out and the main thing they get is the manager banned for kneeling game but the lad getting it rescinded and no further punishment for the melee. Nothing for the end of our game.

Just be consistent.

No issue with pitch invasions tbh if you’re celebrating a huge moment. Pitch invasions to then also either give aggro to or even try and fight opposition players on the field is just not on however and you deserve whatever is coming to you.
