Burnley failing to control their players and fans.

And with regard to your last sentence, we have never ever bounced back to the 1st division (premier league) at the first time of asking. The quickest we've ever done it was our last promotion there under Heckingbottom. Here's hoping we break that duck in the play offs.
The most we've ever had to wait is 14 years. Somewhat better than our massive neighbours. 26 years and counting for them.

Shows a lack of control by our players granted be great to show appreciation to the travelling fans but get off the pitch let them celebrate.. I'm sure we would have done the same had we have won promotion
Rubbish. Unless they could teleport there were hundreds of their fans between the tunnel and our players

Our players should have been straight down the tunnel. They've just got promoted so their players and fans are going to celebrate. Just get out of the way.
Rubbish. Should they have just teleported over the hundreds of fans in between them and the tunnel?

Slag them off in game, being annoyed because pissed up sprites got in their faces in their place of work is ridiculous

Agree…it’s weird how he doesn’t give us any credit for anything.

I remember last year when the take over deal was going through.
Jim White was saying we’re a massive club and would be an attractive prospect for any new owner wanting to buy a massive club.
Jordan must have pulled a face, so White said “come on Simon, surely you can’t deny that Sheffield United are a big club”

He replied “I accept they are a significant club but they aren’t a Leeds United or even a Sheffield Wednesday”

Think it’s a age thing…Jordan is mid 50’s, so a little younger than me
And I remember for about 2 seasons in the early 90’s Wednesday were the real deal, genuine contenders to win the title.
They were averaging crowds of 28K ish but back then 28K was impressive. So he clearly remembers SW being a really big club and it’s stuck.

Yep, Wednesday are so huge that the premier league is about to embark on it's 26th consecutive season as a Wednesday free zone.

Not sure if there's any substance to this but wouldn't be surprised if so, especially by his reaction.

30 years ago now tbf but Turf Moor is probably the worst racism I've personally witnessed at a British ground. Only Oakwell has come close.

Jordan. McCabe made some very poor decisions but he’s a fundamentally decent bloke. Whereas Jordan is just an arsehole.

Decent bloke, unless you work for him and he stops your wage without telling you when you are not even in the country.

What absolute bollocks on so many levels. If you did happen to be at Turf Moor last night, your observations are laughable and inaccurate.

If you weren't at the game, I'd encourage you to read the accounts of those who were, rather than take the opportunity to slate our manager, players and staff who, through no fault of their own, got caught up in a scary and unpleasant situation.

Your comments are ignorant and lazy because no-one associated with our club, staff or fans, contributed to what happened after the final whistle.
Spot on! Zero culpability for anyone associated with the Blades last night. We commented about 10 minutes from the end that they were very late bringing out the stewards and coppers to ring the pitch. Interestingly against Cardiff on Friday we pretty much did that! There were more stewards and coppers arguing with an older blade who wanted to go for a piss on the way out and had been misdirected. They wouldn’t let him go back in to the toilets due to “management orders”!

The EFL are happy to throw the book at us for handbags, which in some cases has been daft on our part, when there is no risk of harm to anyone but not interested in events like last night and Forest when people have, and more could have been, assaulted down to the negligence of the home team. Absolute jobsworth bunch of w anchors!!

It’s time we started to properly get behind our team, the manager and club generally and supported them rather than being yellow bellied pussies!! Let’s play our part in turning the mood around, you know by being supporters rather than f***ing customers!! Starting Friday night!! UTB

I walked past as that was in full swing. It was a real 'jobsworth' incident. I can see they were trying to clear the ground of United fans but that chap was hardly likely to go back in the ground and start a fight. As it happens I had tried to get in the toilet myself but it was so full of people that I abandoned the idea and risked driving home - made it :D

I really don’t care about fans and pitch “invasions” ( even though it looked like about 10 of them). You are a professional athelete. That means you conduct yourself professionally, in everything you do. We lost, they are promoted, get off the sodding pitch asap, ignore everything and behave. If some twat giving you the bird is going to wind you up that much, I wouldn’t fancy your chances of completing 90 mins in a big game. The culture and attitude is set by the manager - and he’s, evidently, a prick with no self control
Absolute nonsense. One of the most ridiculous posts I've ever seen on here

Nothing will happen over this. Bearing in mind it took over a year after one of our players was assaulted at Forest before they got a mild slap on the wrist this is nothing by comparison. For those criticising our players over this get real. They were walking off the pitch and trying to acknowledge our fans. In our last 2 promotions we have allowed opposition players to do the same without supporters invading the pitch. Just poor crowd management by Burnley (same as Forest) but not worth getting hung up over. Not sure what the fan was saying to Choudray but pretty sure it wasn't well played and good luck in the play offs.
They didn't have a chance to get anywhere near our fans. I cannot believe anyone is blaming United players.

Burnley reacted like there was already some beef with us beforehand. Their reactions were way over the top towards one or two of our players, it was happening during the game too, I’d love to know what was said between both clubs as you could tell there was no love lost between both clubs during and after the game.

It’s a cunts trick to get in a players face and not expect a thick lip the silly twat, that’s the only gripe I have with Choudhury in this incident.

It does seem to follow us round like a bad smell which has to be a slight concern.

Onto the shitty playoffs and nothing will happen to Burnley.

You completely missed the point of my post. I wasn’t claiming to be making a factual assessment of the incident, I said that players should not get into fights with supporters who are giving them stick. As others have said, look at our club and ask yourself why this keeps happening. We have a confrontational, chippy manager who publicly takes the piss out of fellow managers and is happy to be seen pissed on social media, confronts opposition players on the pitch, rants publicly about referees not showing him respect and delights, seemingly in bringing it on at every opportunity. Sorry but don’t be surprised if that winds other clubs and their supporters up. I’m not defending the goons who were on the pitch but they represent an extreme of what is quite understandably, a general dislike of us. That has been cultivated by one person and he’s an embarrassment. For you to suggest that me presenting that hypothesis is lazy or ignorant rather misses the point

I’m not sure what you mean by ‘this keeps happening’? On what previous occasions have players been ‘getting into fights with supporters who are giving them stick’?

Do you mean the Forest pitch invasion and the Burnley pitch invasion?

In which case are you saying it was Wilder’s fault that while he was managing Middlesborough, someone ran on the pitch at a Nottingham Forest game against Sheffield United and head-butted Billy Sharp?

Well listen to the songs they had beef with us not sure what for

Pizza takeaway trolling haha ffs

The trolling is just more evidence of Leeds being desperate to stoke some kind of rivalry. Yes of course we are all Yorkshire, but that's where it ends, and everyone knows that we have just 1 rival and always will.

Once the new season kicks off, we can watch as they desperately try to rekindle some kind of rivalry with ManU, who will be equally dismissive.

I would agree that any player being abused and given stick shouldn't react.

But on the other hand, any player who does react and gives the yobbo a well-desrved smack in the teeth, gets a quiet "well done" from me. If a blind eye can possibly be turned, it should be.

Like has been said several times, what is it with people who want to celebrate by gloating over someone else, rather than celebrating by being happy for themselves? Why should the first reaction be "Great, Burnley have won" rather than "Great, Sheffield United have lost"?

They won't be able to ban everyone that ran on. But if they look at the morons posting their moronity on Facebook, and ban all of them with maximum publicity, it might just help.

Burnley beat us and gained promotion, big game, emotions high and I don't begrudge them getting a bit giddy. Our lads put up a decent showing and with the layout of the ground were making a slight detour to applaud our travelling fans on their way to the changing room. Again, nowt wrong with that. What isn't acceptable is a number of the home fans, rather than celebrating with their own, start giving it the Billy Big Bollocks to our players. Absolute fucking wanker trick and if any of our fit young athletes had lost his head and started dishing a few slaps out, they'd get my full backing.

Some of you protected title fuckers need to experience life a bit, you can't fucking wait to pile into our lot because you've never experienced shit. You hate Wilder, you cry like fuck when we show some passion and I honestly think you'd be better off shaking your head and tut tutting at golf fans for shouting 'in the hole' and all that bollocks. Might stress you out a bit but hide behind a pullout you must, to keep you safe.

We used to be known for having an intimidating ground full of intimidating fans, now half of you fuckers are like a bunch of dinner ladies crying because the kids won't stand in line. Blades??? Fucking hell, I hope not.

UTBFTP 👊👊👊

A lot of what you say is true ! no doubt CW tries to create a them and us mindset which to a degree is good ! Unfortunately to day it gets out of control with the media (tele and newspapers )and social media just going over the top.
Wilder is a Harry Bassett clone in many ways with his methods ! He was ace at creating such a situation and worked a treat both with Wombles and us.
It's an uncontrollable beast today with hatred whipped up against us due to the media of all kinds.
No such thing in Harry's day most of it went under the radar with no social media whipping up hatred for us ! we now have a reputation as bad boys which is going to be hard to shake off..
Managers opposing players and fans are aware of our problems and giving it to us! We as a team don't take this lying down ! a scenario which leads to any hot heads starting something and bingo we are in trouble again.
We don't get a fair hearing in most cases and it will be interesting what developes from this.
Painted as bad guys and worked a treat in Harry's day ! How do we snap out of this situation?
What happened at Forest was ridiculous! Hopefully justice will be done this time ! Though will it ?.
