The worst thing about this was...(realises there's more than one 'worst thing about this') apart from him being a terrible manager, was the vilification Sheffield United got for sacking him when he was just rubbish. Loads and loads of BS coming from Manchester about him being a great manager trying to introduce a new playing style and it would take time. BS. I noticed he was never offered a position in Manchester after he left us. And here's another 'worst thing', was he appointed as our international name when we were being tricked into beliving we were being bought by Channel 5? FiH I shouldn't keep thinking about all this shit :(

I've seen this photo before, but what i hadn't noticed was how empty the kettle was. It raises a lot of questions:

Was he mid pour? Had he finished pouring or did he only fill the kettle up for 2-3 cups when he would've known that others wanted a brew.

And why was the manager making the brew? I am sure there was a tea lady back then. It suggests that Robbo couldn't delegate.

Robson out

Few things that picture reveals.

I did not know hat that he had lost his little fingure.
Someone has taken an illegal spur off the light switch that is clearly outside the trunking.
And, 4" white tiling is definitely a no no in the kitchen area. Use splash backs. that said they appear to have clean grouting.

‘Unlucky’ manager was Robbo.....

One of KM's worst mistakes. I've defended him plenty of times for his financial committemnt to the club, but Robson was a pisspoor judgement call. Worse than that, I think KM was still saying afterwards, that Robson could have done it but had to sack him because of the fans.

For once the 'fickle fans' actually did the club a massive service, getting rid of the useless git.

It could be argued that this was the 2nd of 2 massive errors that would go on to define SUFC for years to come. The 1st was not spending the James Beattie fee 6 months sooner, something which could have well meant that the 2nd never happened.

I'm assuming you are referring to the lack of a replacement for Hulse after he broke his leg ? In terms of KM mistakes I'm firmly of the belief that the one you refer to doesn't even come close to replicating the Nobson appointment . It could of course quite plausibly be maintained that the lack of a suitable replacement for Hulse was at best only partly KM's fault . Warnock has to take his fair share of the flack for that one too .

Nobsons appointment was on a level all of its own in terms of monumental mistakes . That was KM's and KM's alone . To give him his dues though , he backed his choice financially . It was just a shame that throwing money at Nobson was a complete waste of time .

Hulse didn't break his leg until after the transfer window closed so a replacement wasn't possible. In January Warnock brought in two strikers as additional cover, Stead and Shelton.

Only later did we find out that Shelton was 'one for the future' and another one of Warnock's punts.

Not a replacement for Hulse so to speak (as pointed out by ISC he didn't;t break his leg until later). More generally just a very poor transfer window, which is why I chose my words carefully. It was not just McCabe but Warnock as well to blame. Ahmed Fathi and Luton Shelton were just bizarre signings that were not what was required. We then panicked and spunked the cash that should have been spent in January on Robson and his war chest.

The worst part of the Robson appointment was that it was clearly a poor one from the start.

McCabe must have been the only person with any connection to SUFC that thought it was a good idea.
