Apologies if I have missed something but has anything come out about why DB36 was missing from the squad today?

Touch of Beattie Flu maybe....

On his way.....seen it all before....many times. Doesn't need a magician to work out how our "board" functions.
Given that we haven’t got any money, it would possibly make sense.

Selling players is inevitable it’s shit reinvestment that fucked us up for the last decade. I’d trust Wilder with the money, and right how I could only see the significant investment we need from doing a deal on him.

I may just be imagining things but the way he responded when asked about Brooks and Duffy made me wonder if something hadn't happened disciplinary wise off the pitch. Christmas parties and all that.

Hang on. We just made x million off the back of the Maguire and Walker deals, did we not?

Yet. t'other week, people were chiding the 'weers t'munneh' gang.

It's all there in the accounts, apparently.

Thought the same robbie - was very abrupt in a "that's the end of it" way, unless it was to quash daft speculation around Brooks.

He's good.In flashes. But he's lightweight. He wouldn't know how to defend if his life depended on it. He might make a Premiership player, he might not. If I were playing against him I'd take him out early and then see how he fancied it. One touch and he falls down. Exciting yes, but it's the confidence of youth. Not sure his "tricks" would cut it against more cynical teams. Nice to have the lad playing for us, but if needs must (and I think needs do) I would sell now.

He said both are ill and will be back next week.

Brooks isn't going anywhere.

Quoted for posterity ;)

I hope you're right, but if there aren't the funds available to strengthen we may have to sell him. The team comes first.

Does that mean Duffy is on his way too ? FFS do we have to have this shit every time he is not in the team ? Then we have the sell him now brigade ................. fuck it lets sell the lot of them then the fans can be happy moaning for the next six years in League one, sod it lets do it right and drop into League two you can all moan then happy in the knowledge that you are one of the 10,000 true Blades who stuck with the club in their darkest hour.

Certain posters who wanted him sold must’ve been delighted that we had absolutely 0 attacking threat whilst he missed out today.
See all the Brooks sellers are at it again,Wilder has said more than once he's going nowhere in January,he's having a blip like the 1st team at present, hasn't Wilder said he was ill.

From a very good source, both have the shits.

So you’d be happy to sell him?

No, I want him to stay. However, if there is no money to strengthen the squad adequately in January, then I feel we have no real option as long as an appropriate bid is received.

The aim, as I see it, is to.

Stay up
consolidate
compete
challenge for the play-offs
challenge for promotion
Get promoted

Obviously, the sooner we reach the bottom of that list, the better. The team is more important than any player. If selling Brooks would allow Chris to bring in players that will make us a significantly better team, then it's a no brainer for me. That is a huge 'if' though.

I wasnt having a dig, just wanting to better understand your thinking.

We could argue about it all day - it doesn’t alter the fact that Wilder has got fuck all to play with., Shouting about it on here doesn’t change that.

?...But he's lightweight.

Some lightweight players grow and take advantage of their stature, remember pigs ditching Vardy because he was to lightweight?

Think you'll find I am agreeing with you, for once.
