This board would go ballistic if they thought for a minute Mr McCabe was interfering with team selection, but for some reason genuinely think they should be able to do just that.....!!!!

Crazy.......

I doubt they do mate.

My post was just a piss take.

No longer our player. Probably Liverpool calling the shots. I think the club has goosed us on this one

But Blades manager Wilder is adamant Brooks – who was yesterday called up to play for Wales Under-21s – is not fit enough to play 90 minutes.

“There’s no conspiracy theory,” insisted Wilder, about a player linked with a big-money move to the Premier League this summer. “He’s not fit enough for 90 minutes yet, that’s not really what the medical people want.

“So he can start or we can use him as an impact player later on in the game. I think the world of him, the players think the world of him and the fans do too.
not fit enough for 90 minutes ‘in the championship’ not some poxy u21 game

To those who somehow believe that this U21 Euro qualifier is some sort of jolly, tell me how this works ? Do they run slower ? Do they shirk tackles ? Do they not chase back ?
These are young guys trying to impress people and hopefully show that they are ready to step up to the main squad. If you've ever seen any U21 internationals, I promise you they are very keenly contested and played at full tempo.
IF Brooks somehow played at less than 100% intensity, he will have wasted his time. He would have been better playing 30 minutes full on.
Having said all this, if Wilder sanctioned 90 minutes, I don't have a problem, but that wasn't the indication in the press 10 days ago.

McCabe has done the dirty on us and sold him to Wales. International teams aren't covered by the transfer window.

Hes going to use the transfer fee to give Ched a longer contract against Wilder's wishes .

You heard it here first ....

It's political correctness gone mad, I tell you. This is the thin edge of the wedge and I'll be writing a strongly-worded letter to my local councillor about this.

I think its fair to equate playing 90 minutes in a u21 game being just a little less testing than coming on as sub for the last 6 minutes of a championship game
you arent facing physically big game hardened defenders, or battling in midfield with championship match fit pros at the height of their careers

your running round a training pitch in front of 50 people and 3 dogs in front of fences with mesh in to stop the ball where an enormous kop would be if it were a testing game

Sadly, this is true. I heard it from "someone high up at the Lane" last night.

So.. does anyone know how well he played? 33 posts on this now and not a single mention. Anyone would think some fans have an agenda.

They lost 0-1 to Bosnia, putting a dent in their hopes of qualifying.

"David Brooks came closest for Wales with a freekick and also had a penalty claim waved away."

A penalty claim? Doesn't sound like our David...

It's good he's come through 90 minutes. Good for us.
