I'd like to know whether this was sanctioned by the club ?
Only a week ago Wilder said he couldn't play a full game !

Maybe the lower intensity/ quality and Brooks building up more fitness explains it and this might even end up being a good thing. But its this type of thing that makes me not want our players getting called up at all.

Lets face it; the Wales set up (or any international set up) couldnt care less about Sheffield United or our season. If they push Brooks too hard and he misses a couple of league games, why would they care? He’ll be fine for the next time they want him.

I want our players having a weekend off to recuperate for the last push, not travelling half way round the world to risk injuries in “friendly” games.

If he had broken down and had to come off then we would have every right to be angry and ask questions , if however he has come through the full 90 minutes without a problem ( I guess he didn't have any problems or would have been substituted) then its the best news of the week.

Don’t think there’s any risk whatsoever that Brooke’s will “break down”.

His injury wasn’t muscle related. The issue is more about energy levels.
He can literally play 90 minutes fine
However his energy levels are likely to deteriorate during a match, so he won’t be as effective due to poor work output.

Brooksy needs to sieze every chance he gets. Meanwhile, another young player who was on Manchester City's books for a few years:

Manchester City's big stars ended Luke Coulson's dream after 10 years at the club, now a bumpy road has taken him to Ebbsfleet via Michigan... but his journey isn't over
Be careful what you wish for...

But Blades manager Wilder is adamant Brooks – who was yesterday called up to play for Wales Under-21s – is not fit enough to play 90 minutes.

“There’s no conspiracy theory,” insisted Wilder, about a player linked with a big-money move to the Premier League this summer. “He’s not fit enough for 90 minutes yet, that’s not really what the medical people want.

“So he can start or we can use him as an impact player later on in the game. I think the world of him, the players think the world of him and the fans do too.

So, I want you to get up now. I want all of you to get up out of your chairs. I want you to get up right now and go to the window, open it, and stick your head out, and yell, ‘I’m as mad as hell, and I’m not going to take this anymore!

The truth is that Wilder wouldn't have any power to 'sanction' any game time Brooks plays for Wales.

Ive said before on a different thread but I'll say again, it's a minor miracle that he's playing at all after having glandular fever.

Our season will probably end in falling just short of the play offs and there may be no need to rush Brooks back - although I guess you could argue he may make the difference in getting us into the top 6.

Anyway, i love Brooks and if this was the 1970s we could have the next TC - as it is we live in 2018 and it's sadly likely that he will be sold to a premier league mid table side for a paltry fee.

I blame McCabe. And maybe the Prince, just not as much.

Also abundantly clear Rob Page has no respect for us or Wilder, and should no longer be welcome at the Lane.

Hold on ,
The manager of our team ,
The one who took us up as champions last year , after 4 previous ( including caretakers ) couldn't get us up
After slaughting the " pigs " at the death trap , doing the double over weeds ,
And still being close to getting us in the playoffs
Is having his managerial expertise , questioned by know nowt fuckers
Who's only gripe is that along with the other 20,000 managers at the lane
Can't understand why a players not being played ,
You can just hear there crys if God forbid the player got injured
If our manager says he's still building up to full fitness that's good enough for me
Other clubs look at what we've achieved with envy ,
Not good enough for some of the Einsteins who play FIFA everyday

I know the film is decades old, but I saw that very speech delivered by Bryan Cranston on stage two days ago.

Good news as long as he's come through it OK. It could have only helped him.

Wilder has less excuses not to start him now.

To be fair I think if you did a poll I think it would be pretty split on whether people think he should start. I don’t think he should and is a much better impact sub (when he is brought on to be on the shouldnof the last man and not deep like against forest)
