I think Duffy is great. A rare breed of midfielder who will still take people on, but do you forget how much semen was spilt over Brooks before we sold him? It's still sticky on the kop from it.

Not really a fair comparison but I have to say I wouldn't swap Duffy for anyone at the moment. Absolutely key to how we have played since Wilder came in and the first name on the team sheet for me.

Currently there’s no doubt that Duffy would bring much more benefit to our team than Brooks
However I suspect currently Brooks gives a bigger benefit to Bournmouth than what Duffy would.

That’s my point.
Rating a player can be very dependent on which team they play for, the players around them and the system/ position they play.

So when someone says Brooks is playing brilliantly for AFCB (as though we’ve sold him on the cheap)
then it’s a bit of a red herring because it has no relation to how he would perform if he was still at SUFC.

In our system Duffy. I love watching them both play though. Brooks has got a decade of his career left. Its already a better level one than Duffy.

Brooks is best as a winger or a second striker than the advanced midfield role Duffy plays. If he'd stayed, he'd either be one of the front two or bench-warming most weeks, not playing behind the front two. He's doing great in the Premier League, but Duffy is the better player for our system.

In Bournemouth's system, you'd take Brooks over Duffy every day of the week. I'd imagine Woodburn would have had a bigger impact at Bournemouth than here as well. Some players just don't suit the very particular way we play no matter how good they are, David Beckham in his prime would be rubbish for us.

Our system is very niche and you have to be a certain type of player to fit into it.

Man United's David Beckham as above? Wouldn't suit us.
Claude Makelele? Wouldn't suit us.
Gary Neville, best right back the premier league has seen? Wouldn't suit us.
Morgs, the best defender I've seen play for United bar Jags probably until this bunch - be nothing more than a bench warmer.

We need a certain type of player in midfield, at wing back, at centre half for us to play at our maximum.
