Bristol Rovers

I think most of us do yep. Though Lots of folks on here liked to call Bristol City 'Bristol' two years ago which irked me, esp as the same folks didn't want us to be called 'Sheffield'.

I think also its cause I hate Bristol City which annoyed me more )

Can't see the problem. Anybody who says 'Bristol' (or'Sheffield') is obviously referring to the city's biggest club - they play in the centre of town in red and white. If they play in blue and white and play in some far-flung shithole it's Rovers (or Wendy) they mean.

Personally, I think this game is more important than the two home games that follow. Bear with me ...

You see, for me, this one sets up the two home games. If we can get a win at the Gas tomorrow, that begins to crank up the pressure on Scunthorpe and Bolton who, as we have seen of late, seem unable to both pick up wins on the same day. Given that one or both may falter again at home, a United win would really crank up the pressure. If we can get Bolton and Scunthorpe coming to the Lane with pressure on them not just to avoid defeat but to win, that's playing into our hands. We only need to beat one of them as it is - Bolton - but if both come needing a win, they cannot park the bus. They have to come out and play and I think that makes them easier to beat. Win Tuesday and I am confident we will pick up at least four points against Bolton and Scunthorpe because they will both have to come and take the game to us - which I think suits us. If we pick up seven points from these three games, I think we're well on our way to promotion, the title will be in our grasp as well. This is the biggest game of the season for me.
I agree Wombwell, beat rovers tomorrow and I wouldn't be too unhappy at drawing against scunny and Bolton, obviously I want the wins against our nearest rivals but a win tomorrow means they need the win more than us, they need to pick points up on us.

Tough trip this one, With the strength that we now have in our squad and first team, you'd expect us to be a little too strong for Rovers, but midweek trip in February it makes it unpredictable.

After the late win from Saturday, I'd hope that we're up for this one and ready to fire into them.

I imagine that, despite being at home, Rovers will see our attacking threat and they want to get men behind the ball, the plan being not to concede early and allow them to control the game a little.

I think if we're patient and invite them on, we could use their growing confidence to our advantage and get them on the counter...

The one teeny problem with that is that lots of neutral football folks think the wendies are the bigger club.

Regardless of size or league position or whatever, both teams deserve to be called by their full name. plus Sheffield FC deserve to be recognised as the only football team who can be called that.

Utd to win again. Be confident. We are the best team in the division, let them worry about us. If they had our side and they were coming to the Lane top of the table and going for promotion, I would be expecting a tough old night. I see no reason why Utd can't win by a couple on Tuesday night.
Agreed. Looking forward to my trip to the Memorial Gd.

Looks dry for our uncovered terrace tomorrow night. Our gert is looking forward to her valentines treat !!
