So the final league match of the season is upon us, as we make the journey down to Bristol to play City. Sadly nothing riding on the game for either team, which a few weeks ago was seemingly a clash of 2 teams looking for a final day win to secure a play off place. Credit to our lads though, still vaguely in contention up until the final whistles of last weeks games...

How that will play out today, who knows? We've had a very unsettling week, lots of speculation and uncertainties yet to be cleared up.. this could be the farewell game to our managerial team..

But anyway...

Any team news?

Is Wilder's heart in it this week?

Is there any point changing the lineup?

Sharp and Clarke up front if both fit?

Bristol City have already said they are probably looking to make a number of changes, with a few carrying knocks and likely to be rested. I really want to see us finish on a high though, and with enough of a swing to finish potentially 8th. We've got a good record down there, so no reason to change our outlook, and give it a good day out for the travelling supporters...

Be safe, be proud.

Thanks to all posters who have supported this thread this season. Back again in August, and a World cup to look forward :) ;) to as well.

Why the fuck does this have to be on Sunday and why the fuck does it have to be 12:30?

Really can't be arsed with this but 'have to' go because I've done every other game, for the first time.

Looking forward to our season being over. Had enough of it all for now.

There you go anyway match thread, have some enthusiasm.

Agreed, it sucks being on that early on a Sunday. At least its a bank hol though and the weather should be great.

I just hope the local reporters can give it a rest for a day and stick to the match, post game.

Chris has said his piece. Now let the club get on with it.

Repeating the same questions to get quotes from him is just shit stirring. It will come out as if he’s repeatedly moaning when all he is doing is answering questions.

Hope Chris is a bit more savvy and says that he’s said all he is going to and they will update when there is news, and leaves it at that.

A lot of this noise has come from local Journalists, harping on about it and wanting resolution from day to day.

If we fall behind on recruitment it’s newsworthy. We can’t announce a player until July 1st so it’s a non-story to an extent until then.

As Ricky says ,why does the Championship play its final game on a Sunday at 12.30pm.......................fucking barmy.

Television?

It's ridiculous though, unless they're going to ensure that there final games are between teams with short travel times.

I'm hoping all the fans that make the commitment to travel get a performance and result they deserve. I'm hoping a few of the younger players will get a go, but doubt it will happen.

I know today doesn't mean anything to either team but I hope we put on a show and stuff this lot.

The result at the Lane still irritates me now when I think about it, and I believe the blow to the team's morale that evening was just as significant as the Coutts injury and other teams recognised the weakness. Villa, Cardiff and Millwall all seemed like history repeating itself; all of those goals were scored from very similar positions on the pitch.

Moore and Leonard in, Duffy and Blackman out. Ched has sobered up enough to make the bench. Disappointed that there aren't a couple of the youngsters at least on the bench.

Wilder’s last starting line-up? Hope not.

The Blackman rumour appears to have been completely accurate – not in the squad. Freeman keeps his place, Leonard comes in for Duffy.

Why the fuck isn't Brooks playing if Duffy isn't. Can't see where a goal is coming from with this line up.

Ched’s first goal of the season off the bench #saviour ;)

Unless we were going to play the kids, I'd have give last season's team one last run out since Wilder or not it's the last chance we'll have to play them together. Evans deserves dropping for last week's non-performance, while Leonard in for Duffy gives us a boring flat midfield with no movement or creativity, especially with Billy and Leon up front.

The difference between last season's team and this one is noticeable. Wright and Lafferty gave O'Connell the freedom to bomb on down the left, while with Stearman and Stevens he's mostly tied down at the back. Duffy provides invention, while Leonard is a decent League 1 midfielder who could maybe do a job at centre back. Coutts was reliable, Evans is wildly inconsistent.

Presumably Wilson has been returned to sender too. Noticeably no Ricky Holmes either. That transfer has a very Warnocky feel to it – try ages to get a player, play them briefly, never play them again. I can see him being sold on in the summer.

We're back to the Clough days of having players on contracts where no one will match their wages and they are old with no incentive to leave.

Zero creativity in that line up. Looks like Wilder has given up already.

Dull team selection, that. Disappointing - and rather pointless, I suspect literally as well as metaphorically.

I'll be at the Emirates saying goodbye to Mr Wenger. I'll pass on everyone's good wishes :p

You ain't seen nothing yet. There will be loads of long philosophical posts that boil down to "the board are cunts". I'm ashamed to say that I will likely be part of it too :)

I’m just here for the “it looked like Wilder was saying goodbye to the fans” comments at full time when he has the temerity to clap the away end.
