not quite the result to match but a very credible point all the same.

A much improved performance from all of the players today and they really deserved a win. We didn’t quite have the quality to score the second, it took a piece of brilliance from Donaldson to set the goal up and that was the best cross so far this season for us. Great goal.

A few half chances aside that was it really. A lot of huffing and puffing, plenty of effort and commitment and some brilliant football but we lacked the final ball. The game was crying out for a certain number 36 on our books who has the worst case of tonsillitis I’ve ever heard of.

Silly penalty to give away which put them in an undeserved lead but we never gave up and they were happy at 1-1. Our complete lack of quality at set pieces is outstandingly shit - for a team that were so inventive last year its a far cry from that which is bizarre.
For the record - I still stand on my point on Carruthers. He has to go this month. And we are crying out for quality in depth - our bench today was very poor and has been for a while.

All in all though a great point and a fantastic response to the game against Bolton against a high flying Derby side who were happy to take a point at home. I hope this is a sign of things to come and not just another false dawn - I think it is.

Great start to 2018. Well in Blades.

Talk about damning with faint praise, thought carruthers was our new right back anyway. You clearly haven't seen our inventive set pieces this season or more likely choose not to.

Shut up you boring individual.
Our ‘inventive’ set pieces this season have often been the short corner which never works. We had one at Leeds which was a good effort Billy should’ve scored from.

15 corners today, should have made them count.

Wasn't too bad a free kick early doors at Hillsborough, or did you miss that thanks to SYP?

I did actually miss that thanks to SYP in fairness but I forgot about that. We don’t seem to have done any since Leeds though.

One win in ten is still worrying but we were the better side today.

Need quality signings to bring about a cutting edge in the next month, 3 of them minimum, not prospects or loans, better or as good as we have now, ready to play now.

I think I must have missed them as well...great performance today, deserved more but danny has a point...

Get a room you 2.

Not arguing your general point about corners, but about today specifically.

Derby are very good defensively. Davies & Keogh - best central defensive partnership in the division?

Even at the Lane, though we 100% deserved the win, the goals were 2 ridiculous mistakes (by Russell & the goalie) & then the injury time counter-attack. Generally speaking, defensively they looked rock-solid that day.

Your post title (Brilliant..) doesn't seem to be reflected in your actual performance appraisal ??
Make your mind up....

It was a brilliant performance away at Derby but not perfect. A decent result which we could’ve and should’ve got more - but before the game everyone would’ve snatched your hand off for a point.

I don’t need to butter the players up with OTT praise to say it was a brilliant performance. We lacked a bit in the final third.

It's almost as if Tufty knows more about football than us keyboard warriors?!?

Who'd have the thought???
I’d still feel much more confident with Wright at the back, but credit where credits due against Sunderland and today Stearman was very good indeed. Had a bit of a mare against Madine at times for me but the best of the 3 centre halves.

Goal 2 against Sunderland on Boxing Day? And the third goal against Derby at home came from a set-piece - mind you, it was theirs.;)

Not very inventive really was it? Just a ball into the box. Although it was nice to see us score one don’t get me wrong
