I was thinking the same thing.

Surely they should be looking to speak to Howard himself.
 
Players tend to shy away from interviews about transfers I think, cos the press always find a way of misquoting them and making them look stupid.

Apparently, the reason why the Howard deal has stalled is that Mr Cryne has intervened and spoken directly to Howard and asked if he'd sign a new contract if Davey went. Howard has said yes and informed Mr Cryne that other senior players (Da Silva, Macken & Muller) have all spoken about Davey and talking of getting rid.

There is currently a board meeting where this is being discussed, whether to keep Davey and risk upsetting the squad or get shut of Davey and Howard to stay and sign a 3 year deal.

Well its his funeral if he wants to stay another 3 years at a club thats going no where. I'd like him at United, but its not the end of the world if he doesn't come.

Hmmm, if this were the case i dont know if i'd agree with it. On one hand Barnsley are playing hardball & generally being Grade A cunts. After all didnt they agree a fee then suddenly change the goalposts on terms?? But the lad is still contracted to Barnsley.

But TBH im more inclined to agree with Howards stance.
 
I think we can safely say that, once this transfer is concluded one way or the other, there will be some serious mud-slinging from both sides. The whole situation will probably see the end of any kind of amicable working relationship our two clubs may have had and will add a bit of extra spice when the two clubs meet this season.
 
radio Sheffield saying again that he's close to signing. blackie still refusing to comment, Davey saying he has no sympathy for howard sat in limbo.

I am 99% certain he will become a Blade, two days now since another bid was accepted by the dingles so to me if he was going anywhere else it would have been done by now. At the end of the day if Howard wants to come here then thats what will happen, the dingles have two choices either get a bit of money for him now or let him go for free later.
