further rumours now are that there is a blade going the other way.
Names I've heard are Keef, Carney, Webber or Morgan. Hope it's one of the first two, as I don't think we have enough strikers or central defenders to cover should one of them leave.

Don't think we'd have risked Webber getting injured if it was and like you say, we are low on numbers in those areas.
Maybe that's why Monty was on the bench after having in some eyes MOTM performances (like Blackie says play well and keep the shirt) then again Coterill didn't make the bench.
barnsley fc os said:during the last close season, brian howard through his representatives made it clear that after a successful season personally, he felt it was the right time in his career to move on to a new challenge.
of course, the club was keen to retain the services of its captain who has been a fans' favourite since his arrival on a free transfer from swindon. The club has been prepared at all times to offer new contract terms to brian to keep him with the reds but his representatives have declined that opportunity.
On monday september 22, 2008, the board of barnsley fc met with brian howard and his representatives.patrick cryne and manager simon davey were also in attendance. Brian confirmed directly to the parties present that he wished to leave the club and did not wish to discuss a new contract with the reds.
As a consequence the board resolved that, in the interests of all parties, brian howard would be allowed to leave the club at the earliest opportunity, subject to barnsley fc receiving compensation.
Further statements will be made as appropriate
United are poised to complete the loan signing of Barnsley captain Brian Howard.
Both clubs dampened down speculation that the deal was imminent over the weekend but Kevin Blackwell broke the silence on Monday afternoon:
"We have agreed a deal with Barnsley and the player and he will shortly be having his medical. If that goes satisfactorily, he will sign a three-month loan deal with an agreed deal at the end of that period."
Kevin added: "Brian brings goals. Every team needs extra fire power and you certainly need that in this division. If the source of goals dries up in one area, you need it from another. There has been a lot of responsibility on Gary Speed at both ends of the pitch but Brian has a goal in him, he will help us in that department."
Howard, of course, scored the late winner that dumped Liverpool out of last season's FA Cup and played an instrumental role as the Tykes progressed to the semi-finals of the competition.
The midfielder, 25, began his career with Southampton and was also at Swindon Town before arriving at Oakwell in 2005.
In addition, Kiki Musampa and Quinton Fortune began their trial spells at Shirecliffe on Monday.
Assistant manager Sam Ellis said: "They took part in a practice match this morning and will train with the development squad on Tuesday. Later in the week they will join up with the first team for training and then we will make an assessment."
Ellis also confirmed that the two Spanish triallists have yet to arrive, explaining that a problem in communication had delayed their trial period.

My nephew is a Barnsly fan and he came for dinner yesterday, his comment was 'he's crap you are welcome to him' sounded like sour grapes to me.
